Micah Parsons is a Packer

Oh brother.
“All I ever wanted was fairness”?
Oh wait.

Oh ok, now I understand.

You can’t but help comparing TJ and Parsons path. I just saw a stat posted by a cowboys fan….seems someone else disappeared when needed most

4 playoff games
One sack
8 solo tackles
10 assists.

See ya just don’t understand
Obviously I need more than YOU

It takes more to satisfy my appetite ya see
So gimme gimme gimme
I deserve it cuz I play sportsball
Very very important I am

In playoff games, stars are gameplanned around. Particularly defensive ones... for passrushing DL and Lbs extra protection or short quick passes or in the case of DBs, not throwing at them...
during the regular season its less likely to see a team eschew a favorite scheme or formation over one or two players... but in the playoffs teams adapt whatever it takes to win

Im not even sure its greed... its just another competition... probably more envy than anything else... waaaaa... its not fair, that guy got more than I did...

So when Dallas bombs this year, they'll look to use the multiple firsts to get a QB. We already for Dak to be traded to the Steelers?

OhMyGosh, it’s a possibility. I hope this doesn’t come to fruition, a step back again in QB management.

I just saw (but can't verify it's correct info) that on top of giving up 2 firsts, giving up a solid DL in Kenny Clark, and forking over a monster contract to Parsons that shatters the Watt deal, the Packers will also be counting Kenny Clark against the cap for the next two years at a value of $18.065M this year and $17.007M next year.

When you add it all up, that's a hefty price to pay for one player. This is a franchise defining move in either direction.

And this is where the Steelers separate to poor playoff play. Great teams will scheme the opposing team to scheme their defensive star. Decoy so to speak.

A chess match against a checker player. Dick L. Was a master chess player and we haven’t had one here since he left.

QB is the most important position. But #2 is absolutely pass rusher.

This was about ego, not money. I bet the GB deal isn't that much more than what Dallas was offering. Jerry was trying to cut out Micah's agent and talk directly. That's not how things work. Jerry seems mad that Micah wouldn't give him a home town discount.

This may be 2 teams trying to go back to the future.

Dallas was built with the Herschel Walker trade. The difference is Jimmy Johnson was the one picking the players.

Green Bay had Favre, but it was getting Reggie White that made them Super Bowl champs.

So i went back to 1986... I dont think there was a single case where a current player was traded for two or more first round picks and the Team getting the player won the trade.... in most cases the player was a colossal failure

Are you meaning just picks straight up?
Stafford to the Rams comes to mind.
Goff, 2 firsts, and a 4th.

That’s actually a fun one to think about. Those 3 picks turned out to be Williams, Gibbs, and Laporta.

I think long term we look at this and see the lions won. On paper, that talent is wild. Though, it’s hard not to take the Super Bowl.

I think it was part ego and money. Jerry said some pretty stupid things about Micah publicly. If Jerry didn't say those things i bet Micah / Dallas would have come to a deal. Still think GB gave up way too much but we will see how it plays out

I guess, but that trade turned Detroit from a laughingstock franchise into a contender... so my take is it was at worse a win-win

I should have made a list though... it was really sad overall

So Green Bay is giving up 2 first round picks, a Pro Bowl DT, paying $35 million over two years to the tackle no longer playing for them, and paying $47 million per year to the player they got. That works out to $64 million per year for one pass rusher and the loss of a talented DT and 2 first round picks.

Yikes.

Sounds like someone is gonna be using GoFundMe.com soon...

That is an awful lot of expectation to purchase.

The reality is, is that player going to elevate the team that value of cap % ?

And players become legends in the playoffs beating some of those game plans. Like James Harrison,or Troy. And some coaches and players never get past the regular season hurdle.

That doesn’t just go for players, coaching is well accountable to both sides of that coin as well.

Austin (designated DC) can’t seem to dial his home phone number during the playoffs, where-as LeBeau seemed to find it hard not to dial up the “legend” part.

It co-exists between players and coaches, but there is a definite distinction between “season” and “playoff” credibility of outcome.

I call this some know X and Os…..

and some don’t.

Sung to

Some timessss you feel like a X and O

Mike don’t

😁

Two firsts and a pro bowler for Micah-ouch

That’s a steep payment to turn around and pay a defender almost $50 mill per year

High risk move for the Packers

Surprised Jerrah had the balls to pull the trigger
That is highway robbery. Parsons is good, but anyone would underperform that contract.
Kahn wouldn't get two firsts and a pro bowler for any 2 players on this team combined.
