Are you going to post who you would have taken in the draft Ike? This board has too many glass house types that like to throw stones.
The numerous I was right in hindsight comments possibly come from the glass house type throwing stones. I'm anything but a blind fan. If that upsets fans, too bad. I'm not changing.
I see mistakes and get upset about them as the Steelers are one of my hobbies. For example, no ILB's take in rounds 2-3 with some good ones on the board?. MISTAKE, I think and I will hindsight it.
PS: Who here has played college ball? I'll take a PM on that one.
It doesn’t matter who I wanted because the draft is finished. Colbert and Tomlin picked who they thought would help the team. Before the draft, KC mentioned they weren’t mortgaging the future and they were going to stick to their board. I respect that, because IT WORKS. The methodology to the draft has been the same since Chuck was here.
I would have liked a ILB in the first, but none was there. After the two were picked the next several had probably a 3rd round grade. I now understand what they are trying to do to the defense. They aren’t going to find another Shazier, so sub package football will be used heavily with Burnett, Edmonds. That is why they didn’t draft a ILB, but rather big safeties who can tackle and run in space.....like Ran did. I get it, and we will see how it works. You don’t get it, so you think the players chosen were a waste. Sorry, I’ll take at face value what the professional evaluators see, not yours since you only see a microcosm of what they see. Plus you don’t even watch games anyway.
Needed a WR after trading Bryant. Would have loved DJ Moore, Sutton, or Miller. They were all gone. But I’m pleased with Washington as I have seen his play for a couple years and he reminds me of Hines. Getting Rudolph was fantastic as I liked him better than 3 of the other QBs taken ahead of him. The fact Pitt had a 1st round grade, makes it even better. Had Kerryon been available or the 3 LBs I did like (Baker, Warner, Burks or even Lo Carter) they would have been that 2nd pick in the 3rd. I trust Munch, and if they felt the OT was that high on the board, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.
The remaining picks Allen and Samuels I like because they are good football players. Watched Allen the past couple years and I follow the ACC and was familiar with Samuels. Samuels will surprise and probably take Grimble’s place unless they don’t keep either Ridley or Toiussant.
I understood the Frazier pick. Dunbar might know something more than anyone else and McCullers hasn’t shown much at all. But I would have liked to have grabbed Tate or Ateman with that 7th rounder.
Your hindsight comments has nothing to do with your glass house analogy. It has everything to do with your incessant questioning of actual professionals and portraying yourself as smarter than they are. Which is basically all agenda based because your view doesn’t match theirs. You duplicate this behavior to the opinions of others on this board, when you have no more insight than any one else with the same information. Finally, your self promotion of being a great evaluator while not showing any evidence that you actually did the work to authenticate your musings is laughable, annoying and frankly lessens the board’s ability to have meaningful dialogue about each’s opinion.
Finally, you are not a contributor but you flood the board with banter threads only to bring attention to yourself, not to promote meaningful and productive discussions amongst the members. Justin has busted his butt to make this board more interesting and interactive than ever before. Yet, you impede it because you have a need to feel important all the while not supporting the actual board itself.
