Mcdonald

They went away from him after he was dominant so early. I was thinking he was going to have a huge 10+ catch game with how often he burnt them in the first quarter. We've got to keep finding this guy all game.

McDonald is always looking to dish out punishment when he has the ball. James always tries to juke and shake to make someone miss. There were 2 times yesterday that if James lowers a shoulder he probably gets a first down, instead he tried jump shuffling a defender and gets no additional yardage. He just never seems to fall forward at contact and that is my biggest gripe. Give me a TE that can truck someone any day.

Jesse doesn't have the strength and power MacDonald has...

Completely different styles..

Which is ok...

That's why Jessie will always be a #2 TE. Many here said JAMES is a good enough starter but are now seeing what a true starter can do in this offense. I like JAMES as he seems like a good guy but he also seems to be running in quicksand and never bulls over anyone.

And once he gets the ball he is gone

Mc Donald is the guy we thought we were getting from San Diego a few years ago. A big, strong, athletic tight end. He and James are a great tandem

No, the SD TE was fast (if he could make the filed) and a playmaker, but VM is a bruiser, like Ditka and Bavaro. I figured he would never stay healthy for more than a few games but he has surprised me this season.

Conner has also stayed healthier than I figured he would, saving our season in doing so.

And isn't the most natural/skilled at catching the rock. He'd not see much playing time on any other team.

Jessie is a starter, and can be one. Vance has pro bowl talent. Elite talent and playmaking. That is something Jesse doesn't have, but I'm not going to be sad if we have to rely on the outlaw again.

I might have been a little harsh but what I meant was as long as VANCE is healthy, Jesse will be the #2. Jesse Brings to mind Mark Brunner as to lunch pail work ethic but not big play maker. I'm glad we have Jessie James as he was solid in the time of O'l McDonald's absents.

I though the was very good last year when healthy. This year, he's even better.

A power run blocker. And speedy receiver who can get open and run very well after the catch. There is a lot to like, and his playing style seems to inspire his teammates.

I would also argue that MacDonald is more athletic than Ditka or Bavarro also..

Health is his Achilles heel...no pun or bad karma intended..

ok I think I have a man crush on this guy. Just a tough dude

Reminds me of Eric Green in some respects but not as big. Green was a freakin mountain

this guy is clutch. watch on Bens td. Vance was wide open

What I'm really pleasantly surprised about is his toughness ATC and his hands of late. I remember hearing he was a great athlete that could stretch the seam (with questionable hands) but it seems like since he's been in Pittsburgh, he's really embraced being a tough SOB.

?????. He lined up search left. Ben wanted him on the shovel coming across but he got caught up in the trash. He came open when the play broke down and Ben ran but there is no way he could have got him the ball.

Correct. His hand placement was **** before he got here. It has improved significantly. He had a HUGE drop ratio in SF, but here, he's a stud! Excellent trade Colbert!

Not that he was alone in this, but timing seemes off with Ben yesterday. I only could watch the first half, but saw where he was hit in the back by Ben's pass. Seemed like VM should have been looking back already. Maybe I saw it wrong. Love the guy though.

O'l McDonald's YAC is what I like, more of the way he gets his YAC, physically over-powering would be tacklers..........................................

Green never played “his size” though. One of truest examples of wasted talent.

Right now McDonald is great in his role. I’d like to see him emerge as outright great - I think it’s there to be had, depends on him.

I'd like to see the Steelers get the ball to McDonald more simply because he is so much fun to watch.
