"Maybe I don't have it anymore"-Ben

It looked like he was calling the plays. CBS showed Haley standing there, holding his play chart by his side.

Let BR call a half; Bradshaw called his own plays most of his career. Couldn't be any worse than what we've seen the first five games.

Haley’s chart Probably looks like this:

1st and 10- Deep
2nd and Long- screen
2nd and short- crossing pattern
3rd and Short- deep throw
3rd and Long bubble screen or draw

I think we are also seeing some skill fade from Ben. Its time to draft and start grooming a QB.

Too soon to start calling him Nothingberger?

Anyone else notice Ben is fat again? I saw it in preseason that he didnt appear to be in that good of shape. Last year he came in slimmer and it was very noticeable. This year, not so much, and it is very noticeable. He cant dance around the pocket anymore, hell, I cant even remember the last time he made one of those amazing Ben in the pocket moving around plays. I agree with alot on here that coaching has sucked, the OL has sucked, etc....but Ben isnt doing himself any favors either with his weight and apparently ****** diet and conditioning.

I fear what the future holds once Ben is gone. If you dont have a QB in this league you have nothing. For those of you that werent around, I dont think I can go through a stretch like the 80's and 90s again. You younger fans have no idea...

And dont even get me started on the stupid ******* Dobbs pick!!!

Name calling a guy that took us to 3 SB in 10 years...and people wonder why Bradshaw wants nothing to do with the city of Pittsburgh.

I think he just doesn’t give that much of a **** about football anymore. His life is moving into the next phase. He’s been married for a while now... couple rugrats running around.... football just isn’t the priority anymore. He’s made more money than most would make if they lived 10 lifetimes so even that isn’t a motivation to play. He’s got a couple rings so that isn’t pushing him either. When you’re young and single and banging chicks in dive bar bathrooms, your life can be all about football. Fast forward a few years and now your a dad and a husband... the wife yammering in your ear “We gotta do something about this yard!! I thought you were gonna call somebody!!” ... and **** like that . It ***** a guys head up.

i think it was the second series against the Jags, Bryant false start penalty.

Ben hung his head, and shook it, as in disbelief. Set the tone, for me at least.

The entire offense have been making mental mistakes all year. Really didn't play together as an entire unit until week 1...but by this time you would think they would be jelling.

He's waffling

Ben Roethlisberger said on 93.7 the Fan that his heart is still in the game '100 percent." It ticks me off that I played like that," he said of his five-interception performance Sunday.

Now, admittedly I had said some things in "dumb fan frustration" mode before the season while Bell was enjoying his extended vacation time about how the coaches should limit his carries and perhaps emphasize to him a bit that maybe he's not the be all and end all of the offense. But I'm a "dumb fan". However when you hear that the coaches actually planned a light running game against one of the worst run defenses in the league who also happens to have one of the best pass defenses, you start to wonder wtf is going on in the coaches' heads?

Particularly after that running back FINALLY had a decent frickin game after four tremendously disappointing (by Bell standards) outings. Why on EARTH would you not plan to take advantage of the situation and run him at LEAST 20 to 25 times? I don't want to overdo it with Bell, but geez, plan on making the running game the focal point of the attack?

I'm pretty sure Ben's comment about "maybe I don't have it anymore" was born out of the same frustration we all suffer. I assume he was simply going passive aggressive and being a dick because he was irritated too. I wouldn't throw him under the bus just yet. Not by a long shot.

I also believe Haley has done some good things for Roethlisberger. He's definitely helped cut down on the sacks. I think he's helped move Ben into more of a read and throw passer instead of a run around and wait for the home-run play kind of guy. But I agree that Haley is a bit of a 2 sided coin. He's either bombs-away or super conservative. One of Roethlisberger's best stats is that his average per catch is among the best ever of QBs. (ever). That tells me Ben is f'n GREAT at 10 to 15 yard throws. But we see very little of that. Most of what Haley is trying to work into the game is screen passes or 40 yard fly routes.

I know T*m Brady is the best QB in the world at tossing a football 5 feet in front of him to a 4 foot tall midget receiver. That's not Ben Roethlisberger. That should never BE Ben Roethlisberger.

I agree with Bell that more balance is required to make the team go. Even out the running and passing attempts, get that play-action working, set up the pass with the run and vice versa. Keep the defense off balance and use formations that allow you to either run or pass. Bell can do both and he can do both out of the backfield, or he can shift at the last moment, forcing the defense to show. That ******* empty backfield at goal-line freaks me out every ******* time.

If you were really watching the reporter asked a ridiculous question which prompted Ben to answer Sarcastically. I don't believe he ment it. He was being rude to the reporter
