Mason Rudolph

Well, it didn't help that both our tackles were manhandled all game long. 78 spend more time in the backfield than all our RB's put together. Rudolph played well enough that we won't be lookin' for a QB high in the draft, especially with all the holes we will have to fill.

As I watched that game, the first thought I had was that I was watchin' a preview of the Steelers team of the near future....jus sayin' And to be honest....they didn't look nearly as bad as I expected 'ceptin for the OL that is.

Steelers can fix that line pretty quick if things fall right in the draft. Get the top OT available in the first, top RB available in the second, and hopefully one of the top centers will be available in the third. A new LT, Dotson in year 2, and DeCastro after a full offseason to recover with hopefully a talented RB (and new OC) would do wonders for this offense.

Let me add....who ever decided it was a good idea to bring in Dobbs after every big pass play until the fourth quarter is an ....******* IDIOT!!!!!

Fitchner, Randy Fitchner.

Hopefully he is an OC fir a mid major college in a few months

This was a huge game for him. On the road against a rival that had to win to get in the playoffs. If he had screwed the pooch he would probably be down the road. I thought that overall he played well. He started slowly but our offense seems to be mostly asleep in the first half no matter who the QB is. The one pick was bad but for the most part his throws were accurate and his deep ball looks pretty damn good to me. And I totally agree with everyone else on this board that says "screw Finkner's short pass offense, open it up and air it out long". Made a difference when BB was QB and the same could be said today for Rudy. Overall, I think he has matured and gotten better. Jury is still out on him and probably will be as long as Ben is around but I think he has a shot at being a starting NFL QB. There are a fair number of starters in the league that look worse than he did today.

I would not be opposed to them using each of their top two picks on the OL, if the right players are available. An upgrade at RB would be nice, but I'm convinced one can be found in the middle rounds, and the backs they have would look a lot better if they were not constantly dodging defenders in the backfield.

Don’t know if it was stated but I’d like to see some Dobbs action during our PO run. I liked him with the short down stuff.

I'm not against this either. Round 2 seems to be the money round for RBs and my top two guys right now are Javonte Williams or Kenneth Gainwell. I don't think either lasts until the third.

I think they lock up Banner and then bring in a LT, then they can still use a top pick on a RB.

Nailed it, draft 2 OL and a RB with the 1st 3 pics, hopefully a OT who can contribute year 1 falls to them.

I wouldn't mind Connor coming back on a team friendly contract but he is not a feature back. It's been a while since we had a back with some speed who can bust a long run

Bring in the top FAs OL out there... pay them....draft OL high and often. Throw in a RB and we will be set. Ben will have to restructure his salary down of course. I'm sure that won't be an issue. He has ALWAYS worked with our front office for the good of the team.

I think they need a LT and a RB.

Tag Bud, redo Ben -whatever brings the most savings. Bring back both corners.

Bring back Juju on a friendly contract.

Bring back Banner.

Draft a RB and T high.

The Steelers are going to have to do quite a bit of work to retain any of their own FAs. How in the world are they going to pay top dollar for an outside UFA?

If you are going to put Dobbs out there for some packages, fine.

However, one would think a perfect package for his skill set would be the 2 pt conversion attempt at the end of the game. With him you have the running option from the QB.

Another reason why Fichtner makes no damn sense to me. He sure gives the appearance of just throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks.

You would've thought it was a perfect spot for Dobbs to come in. After rewatching the conversion attempt, everything was taken away by the Browns and there was heavy pressure coming off the left side. Rudolph had nothing to work with.

I do give Mason grief because he can look shaky and his arm is questionable at times, but he looked pretty good today and drove them in the 4th q for the potentially tying TD & 2 pt conversion. He should have gotten call or two in the end zone as the Browns' DBs were grab-happy with our WRs. All in all, he may turn out to be a good stopgap with life after #7.

Simple ..Magic. Come on man.

He played well. too bad the play calls did not put him in better situations.

BTW - Claypool is the X factor for playoffs.

Get to practice makes a difference, Mason can hold his head high. Some poor coverage and tackling once more let us down at keys situation.

Agreed, but 3rd/4th down and one can be a role for Dobbs ala Jacoby Briskett.

Dobbs has 17 career passing attempts, Jacoby has started several games in the NFL, big difference, there is zero chance of Dobbs being brought into throw a pass in a playoff game.

I don't know man. With this coaching staff, nothing would surprise me.

Isn't it being too predictable bringing Dobbs in ?. You know he is either handing it off or running. The box is going to be stacked.

this is my point, you're not taking Ben off the field to throw a pass with Josh Dobbs.
