That's the thing slash. Sometimes I wonder if I am watching a different game then others. Fully agree with you. His training and work ethics seemed to be great. He always seems to be a well liked good teammate, doesn't tarnish the Steeler Shield,so to speak. I think he has improved every season. The biggest improvement seems to be the different angles he was taking. He has figured that part out. Maybe as others have noted,it is because he has switched back to his natural side.
As Coryea has pointed out for the 100th time his success has only been through TJ's imergance as a superstar. It certainly doesn't hurt, but one might argue the whole D has benefited with TJ's arrival not just Bud. From the DB's to the DL. That is what a superstar brings to a team. They make everyone better.
I might be biased, but I have been a Bud fan since he was picked. Always thought I saw the potential in him. Believe me,he pissed me off on many occasions. Here's to hoping he has a massive season and signs a long term contract that is fair to the team and himself.
Don't forget Bud also played through some injuries (tough hombre) and is known to have a pretty insane work ethic with the weights. I'm not sure about the classroom or how much he's able to absorb, but I'm glad he'sn't going anywhere for now.
Uncle Jarvis was undersized and supposedly speedy but I was suspicious when they drafted him because he had spinal stenosis. I thought he wouldn't be able to lift weights enough to get big enough and strong enough to be an NFL caliber player and it looks like I was right.

Jarvis didn't have the drive to make it. he was already behind the eight ball athletically but he also wasn't all that self motivated. The one training camp episode where Cam chewed his *** for not standing up with the team. (He was the only cat not standing). I knew then that his football future didn't look good.

You're absolutely right Ron and I Remeber many saying that would not affect his play. That not being strong enough stopped him in his advancement. We kept him to long as our coaches / draft Personel didn't want to admit a major mistake.

God it would be nice to have the 2013 draft over .........everything even up to Jarvis Jones in the first round turned out to be a disappointment......... later on we see, D Hopkins, Zach Ertz, Travis Kelce, Tyrann Mathieu and some LBs like Jamie Collins and Kiko Alonzo ........ oh well .....hindsight is
Dupree has 4 years to develop and everyone is fine with that. The guy trying to develop at the hardest position must be great the first year he starts. No exceptions!!

I think that a lot has come from coaching. There was a decent article that went through film study comparing him year to year and his hand use was one of the biggest things that they picked up on. His body position was much better and that gave him the leverage to use his power. Add that all up and suddenly his athletic talents started to shine through. It was technique.
