Martavis Bryant released?

The only complaint the Raiders can file is being the victim of highway robbery.

He won't be back. I just don't see him putting in the effort needed anymore. Especially since he was cut due to performance, not due to his suspension.

I read a report he might be considered to be re-signed. I think it was PFT. But I agree, I really don't see him back either. And think a team is just basically wasting their time kicking those tires.

He is not going to be suspended it appears and the Raiders did a smart thing by cutting him before the 1st game of the season. His contract would have been guaranteed for the year of on the opening day roster and now he is on essentially a week to week contract and they can cut him without repercussions.

The report by Schefter from a few days ago that he was going to be suspended apparently was wrong. It might have been a case of putting two and two together: The Raiders cut him, so therefore he must've failed a drug test. In any case, it was some bad reporting.

In the meantime, if he stays clean the Raiders are getting a bargain.

And Schefter owes Bryant an apology.

there were rumors earlier in the year he was facing suspension. things seem fishy

There are also reports the NFL has decided to takeva kinder gentler approach to players who test positive. Getting them help instead of suspending them. Was said in a Randy Gregory article i read..

More and more, in one of the intriguing and quiet trends around the league, the NFL has become more tolerant when a player violates the drug policy. It has softened its stance on drug policy perpetrators. According to league sources, there have been examples this offseason of a player having a disputed test, with the league emphasizing treatment and support rather than discipline, which was one of the NFL Players Association's goals when the policy was reconfigured in 2014.

Raiders got out of his guaranteed money and now can sign him and cut him again if needed. Smart play by the Raiders.

****, he got another chance.
He's lucky af.

Nope, I said it before, and will say it again, he was cut due to performance. They have talent, and we gained a better more diverse receiver in Switzer, and they still didn't have room for his sandbagging, woh is me, ***...
