Marcus Peters, CB Washington

What incentive do they have to allow him back? If nothing else, if I'm a recruit, I see that I can have a major screw up and the coaches will still welcome me back after a period of time.

He's no threat when he isn't playing. It's like inviting a pedophile to a retirement home. I'm sure he won't bother anyone.

The incentives for the team is that they calm the waters with the guy I guess. It's a PR move. But that says nothing about the guy or his character.

I guess I'm just on the opposite side of the fence on this one. If Pat Narduzzi kicked a guy off Pitt's roster, I'd be extremely disappointed if he allowed him back with the program in any capacity just months later.

Choked a coach? If he can give a footjob while choking a coach, He's a shoe-in to be a Buffalo Bill...

Peters has owned up to losing his cool but denies any physical altercation (including the anonymous choking) occurred. All of his present and former coaches called the anonymous report bogus too.

One coach called him the best CB prospect he has seen in the last 14 years.

We are lacking in team intensity anyways. He won't bother anyone as long as Deebo is on the team ;)

There is a lot of ups and downs with this kid but let's not forget he is a kid. Some people can handle things better then others I think this article shows he is not as bad as the media wants to make him out to be. I know this has been talked about in other threads and I know it was posted that even though he was kicked off the team the school still paid his scholarship. If the kid was that wrong or that bad would the school do that, must me a lot more to the story.

Last week, Peters said, he went to Seattle to pay a $124 fine related to that case. He also stopped in to see Petersen, who will let him participate in Washington's pro-day workout April 2, Peters said.

"I apologized to him once again, and I told him that I appreciate him even working with me," Peters said. "They were working with me a lot, and I just – I didn't get it. I didn't see it in front of me that they were trying to help me out.

I am not against him at 22 but with this class being pretty deep at CB I still think OLB is our pick, but you never know how the draft plays out.

The more I read about the kid - the more I like the Steelers picking him at 1.22. My selling point? NFL comparison - Aquib Talib. That's a bonafide Pro Bowlers in the making! I just hope he's not fragile...

There are several draftniks slotting him at 1.22 and honestly, I prefer him there over Landon Collins or Bud Dupree - IF, and I don't know what Charlie Casserly is smoking, Vic Beasley is on the board at the same time as Marcus Peters - I think I will lose control of some of my bodily functions...

Discuss.

Peters is the boom or bust type of pick.

1 ) He should be on the board

2 ) He has very good ball skills! And he's quick ,and instinctive.

3 ) He has red flags / character issues, and is a little slow for a cornerback.

Is choking a coach for us such a bad thing? the way our staff is sometimes I would say he might fit in well lol

No. But the season is over now. What is it going to hurt? You really think he is going to choke out a coach or go off on another player during a pro-day? He's going to be running and jumping not playing football... where he generally gets into trouble.
So, Cleo, how do you KNOW this???

I think Coach's statement "nails it" - see below.

Agreed 100% - and that's strange for us - but, for what our defense likes to do (not saying that I know what Coach Butler is planning), Marcus Peters seems to be the perfect fit. If I was allowed to recommend anything to the FO and coaching staff - I suggest that Peters top-end speed can be masked by drafting a true ballhawk safety (Holliman from Louisville)...

Sorry, got him confused with Gregory's testimony. Gregory would be off my board.

SO the Steelers met Peters yet? Hope they don't take him without a previous interview

Washington's Pro Day isn't til April I believe. Maybe they'll take him out to the customary dinner or lunch.

Thanks,

I got to post 28, and all I could think was "these guys are elfing idiots. I wonder what Coach thinks?"

PPfffhewwww!

So, Cleo, how do you KNOW this???

I know it because I know what happens at a pro-day. They don't play football games at pro-days. Maybe you should google the term and not respond to a post before you know WTF you're talking about?

I was talking about how you insinuate to "know" the character of this kid. You do not. So do not imply that you're omniscient.

Did he or did he not try to choke the **** out of a coach? If so, that's about as big a red flag as you could have.
That would move him up the boards of some folks on this site.....

For sure, although if one were to try that with Coach Butler, Coach Porter, Coach Lake, or strength and conditioning coach-in-waiting Deebo, it may end badly for him.

although Coach Haley may set him up for a meet-n-greet and possibly more with Mrs. Coach Haley.

Ahhhh, I don't know. What size helmet does he need?

is there a link for the failed drug test. hadn't heard of that til here

You highlighted this :

He's going to be running and jumping not playing football... where he generally gets into trouble.

Now Mrs. Cleo tell me where I insinuated anything. Maybe you should google insinuated again? I don't have to be omniscient to know that he got in trouble on the football field. Do you not know that? I'm guessing you didn't read the entire thread or didn't read it thoroughly enough and starting talking without knowledge.
