Man I am really confident about this game Sunday. I mean really confident..

The steelers did actually beat the Pats last year in week 15 and held them to 10 points. So save me the warnings about how great and unbeatable they are.

Steelers heavily flawed defense held the pats to 10 points

This year’s steeler defense is much improved with athleticism. Did the Pats offense improve? No, they went backwards because their OL is sketchy and they lost Gronk. They have almost no healthy TEs.

Josh Gordon did play vs the steelers last year. He didn’t do ****. People are remembering the explosive young WR but Gordon is not that same guy. He can still make plays but he’s not Randy Moss.

Conner was injured last year. Jay Sam rushed for 142 yards vs the Pats. The leading Receiver that day was James Washington with 65 yards. The pats did limit AB but the steelers other playmakers stepped up.

JuJu can be moved outside or inside to create matchups. AB just played 1 spot. It would take a lot for the Pats to try to take away JuJu and if they did, it would leave others open.

Their starting S Chung is out for getting arrested. Vance is a matchup problem for them. JuJu is a matchup problem. JaySam on pass routes is a matchup problem.

sure i’m Worried about the Pats uncanny ability at home to always have the right play called (IE cheating) but the steelers do matchup well with the pats.

The Steelers barely made it above .500 last year.

The Cheats won another SB.

Nobody should feel good about this game till it's over.
Stop. We beat them straight up last year and got robbed the year before.

The *'s are no longer a problem for us.

Glad to see more optimism 'round here!!!

Power run game stopping is our D stregnth. t*mmyb*y will be tough to sack with QWICK hand offs / passes but I still see 1-3 sacks. It's the pressure in his face and hurried excecution that will be his demise.

Salute the nation
I predicted 4 sacks. But, I'm not Coach, so if I'm wrong I'll admit it.

I disagree.

This version of the ***s will not have Gronk as a blocker for the run, nor as a bail-out for Marsha, nor will he be running down the middle of the defense. Instead, they'll utilize Gordon going deep, Edelman on the short stuff and Thomas as a TE/WR hybrid (not that he'll line up as a TE, but that he'll stay close to the LOS). They'll be much different than we've seen before.

If Sony is in the game, they'll run the ball, but rarely throw it to him as his hands aren't that good. James White is the better receiving option, but isn't as good cutting and finding holes at the LOS.

IMO, our secondary will still have their hands full. Our safeties will need to focus on defending the long ball first and keep everything in front of them without peeking into the backfield too much or getting pulled to the LOS. The ***s will be running 3 WRs, forcing us to pull a LB off the field and bring in a DB (Sutton or Hilton).
I'm with you Supe. The difference, though, my friend, will be having BOTH Barron and Bush on the field in 3 WR sets.

You're absolutely correct about the safeties - don't get cute (especially if Davis is a no go), keep everything in front of you all night.

This game will be epic...

I don't see anywhere in that post saying we were going to lose, just stating the obvious. You've been watching those assclowns as long as I have, do you really think they won't be allowed to get away with some shady **** when it comes to OL/DB holding and grabbing?

we could beat them if brady has a fluke game
other than that, im not counting on tomlin having a good game plan or the team prepared
that standard IS the standard, ya know

There's already articles about headset issues.
Here we go.

I would think given our failures in Foxboro that confidence needs to be earned Sunday night. Opening the season against the defending cheats will not be easy. If we can get up early and put pressure on them then we can control the tempo of the game. This is the ultimate chess match for us as they are superb at in game adjustments and mikey sunglasses fails at adjusting in game. I want to see our defense play sound football and match up appropriately. That means LBs should under no circumstances be caught wide covering WRs. If I see this, I will know we are getting beat. Lets see this coaching staff adjust their strategy so we can win this game and start the season the right way.

Dude. I love ya, but C'mon. We know he's a blowhard, even an asshat, but does everyone have to slam the ******* EVERY SINGLE THREAD?

You KNOW he's going to make these ridiculous threads and statements. But more often than not, they generate SOME conversation. I'm not saying he isn't a bit of an ***, but do we have to slam him EVERY SINGLE THREAD?

Just sayin'.

I was being sarcastic, man! You've known me way too long to take that comment seriously...

Duly noted, Sir Wig.

I shall take that valuable nugget of information and leave the peasant alone for a day[emoji12]!!!

I don't know about feeling confident about playing the Cheats. There all are things that have happened in the past that leave me with a bad feeling. Like bugging the locker room and interfering with the opponents communication gear. And a lot of the times it seems they have their own officiating crew. Now I know the Steelers are an apt team but it sometimes seems the cards are stacked against them.

I truly believe that this game won't even be close, we are too explosive on offense and our defense is starting to remind me of the days of Cowher. I will go out on a limb and predict that Ben throws for over 500 yards to start the season and will have 4 TD passes. Conner will break the century mark easily. we win by at least ten points.

Great minds...

If we play crisp, fast, hard hitting defense....we might win.

Addition by subtraction. Peezy is gone and our LB corps is looking much improved and I actually feel the pieces are in place to pressure Brady up the middle like we've talked about ad nauseum year after year but very seldom have had any success. Foxboro can be a springboard for us this year, and I'm glad for the challenge. Go Steelers!

I don't know why, but I get this strange 2006 AFC Championship vibe from this Sunday's game.
I think the Cheats are favorites ( as were the Broncos ), but the Steelers are going to come storming out of the gates and get a big lead early in the first half and then slowly dictate the rest of the game in the second half.
Our D, as we know it from last year + this offseason, is a bit of a question mark.
But our offense is most certainly not.
As we speak, Vance is healthy ( fingers crossed ).
So we have Ben, JuJu, Conner, Vance, Washington/Moncrief ( and by the way, it'll be Washington sooner rather than later in a RUN AWAY ) and a top 3 offensive line.
No locker room distractions currently, the talk of the offseason over and transferred to Oakland and New York, and a bunch of guys, players and coaches, out to prove something.
I like our chances in this game and on the season.

Our defensive scheme and Tomlin's erratic decision making are my ONLY pauses.

I strongly believe that the Steelers will win this game, but....it will be ugly. I expect the offense to be inconsistent and limp around for about 2 1/2 quarters because Ben only played a series or two this pre-season and the offense always starts slow, and I expect there to be some lapses in the defense with the new faces still adjusting to the scheme at game speed. I expect a 19-16 type score, or something stupid like that, but a win nonetheless.

sunday night game,,, in Foxboro,, or whatever suburb it is now. Against brady and bellicheat. This is no cake walk folks.
