By Adam McCoy SteelerNation.com If you ask anyone in Pittsburgh if Ben Roethlisberger should be in the Hall of Fame when it’s all said and done, you’re likely to get a resounding “yes” from yinzers everywhere. Yet there are some out there who still doubt Ben’s accolades, and cite some of his 2004 draft partners […]

Man if Wheaton didn’t **** up his hand I think we had something there. Same could be said with MB, if his head wasn’t ******(too much AB interactions?).

From the article:

Yet there are some out there who still doubt Ben’s accolades, and cite some of his 2004 draft partners as better candidates.

I couldn't read any further than that.

When a QB wins 2 Super Bowls, they are very likely in the Hall of Fame. Cowher is in and his career is much less remarkable than Ben's.

If Ben plays another year or two Manning gets ahead of him. Manning will get in. At that point it would look stupid if Ben didn't get in. And if Ben comes back good with this defense it could be three championships not two. Plus he won an extra AFC championship. His win loss is insane.

BEN is a first ballot lock. He is still playing for a couple more years so why are / is anyone worried about his HOF induction.

Nice article ADAM but just a little premature as when he acquires another SB victory, then there willo be little doubt.

Did the writer forget to include Emmanuel Sanders? He seems to have carved out a nice career without Ben.

Ben will get in, but definitely not 1st ballot. He is not the most well liked QB outside of Pittsburgh, largely due to his prior transgressions.

I think your "definitely" is skewed. Prior transgressions? You must be confused.

you're out of your ******* gourd if you don't think Ben is a first-balloter

Ben is a sure fire talent to be a First Ballot HOF'er. But I wouldn't put it passed the voters. It will depend on the years. All those years he was never an MVP or an All pro will be the argument all those who want to slow him down will make.

Anyone that can question Ben being a first ballot HOFer is out of their mind. Ben will end up with at least 2 SBs, over 60,000 yards passing, 400 Tds, ~50 game winning drives, AP offensive rookie of the year, youngest QB to win a SB, 6+ pro-bowls, and a ton more stats that I don't have time to post.

I'm not even sure Ben has received a vote for MVP throughout his career (correct me if Im mistaken). But somehow, everyone is SO confident he is a lock for a 1st ballot?

Face it, someone with BR's stats should have much more national presence, commercials, accolades. But his prior allegations, two mind you, certainly play a part. Whether you all would like to believe it or no.

Dude- he was suspended for possibly being a serial rapist. And this is WELL before the metoo era.

Hell, the league was willing to give him a mulligan for the first one, and he still couldnt resist.

I understand he's a changed man, but ask most nfl fans and they still know him as Ben "Rapethlisberger".

Only thing he raped was those fans secondaries. He was never charged for a crime, "those" fans can go **** themselves.

Maybe that's the original problem,............lived in his gourd to long and finally was freed................

And when did the fans get any say in Hall of Fame voting?

Bullshit. Look at Philip Rivers, been a choir boy off the field his whole career and he doesn't have a national presence either. I've never seen Eli with too many commercials or accolades either. Maybe, just maybe, some of these guys choose not to?

What are we doing now,........ Because **** Browns boy QB has commercials that are played every over aND OVER now count towards HOF............ Steelworth, some of these "fans" are manipulated by the media and they haven't figured out participation trophies mean ****.

Ben Roethlisberger is the real deal, he changed the way the game is played, he set multiple records / accolades / ect........ Tougher than t*mmyb&y / Eli / Payton / Arron all combined as any one of those toy QBs would have been long broken playing behind the 5years of worst OL in NFL as BEN did. Does anyone Remeber 13-0 rookie regular season? Fastest to 50 wins, youngest to SB winner, **** the list goes on and one and on...................**** the nay Sayers because their mommy made room for them to win............

Ben is a bubble First ballot hall of famer. But if he comes back next year and is comeback player of the year or wins another bowl before retiring he’s a lock at first ballot.

Agreed.

There would be no doubt, whatsoever, if he can return and we make a run at it.

Doesn't make sense to me. So 2 SBs won't do it but 3 will? If SBs aren't important then why does another one count? If they are important then 2 should be more than enough. Especially since there are QBs in the HOF with 0 SBs and only 2? or so that had won 2 SBs that aren't in.

Wasn't Ben set to take over from Donovan McNab as the lead for the Chunky Soup commercials... that until he stuck his face through the windshield of a car during his motorcycle accident.
I really haven't seen much of Phillip Rivers regarding advertising. Eli did quite a bit more than I realized so it must have been more local content commercials. I saw quite a few of them the day after he announced his retirement. His brother and dad were in some of them as a family.

As far as MVP awards for the league Ben had some big names in Peyton and Tommy to deal with ..... hell Drew Brees has thrown for over 5000 yards 5 times and never won one....

Ben owns almost every Steelers passing record..... 2 superbowls... probowls... 3x 500 plus yards in a game.......He is already in the top 10 all time in quite a few catergories and may add to those stats.
Another superbowl would bolster the resume.... but I think the above info already has him on a first ballot .... and I think the recent AB turmoil has made alot of the people who placed blame on Ben take a step back and say wow....
