Ref was right in front of him on one play and he looked right past him, did that stupid first down thing, and dropped it right at the ref's feet. Dude, show a little normal man respect and hand the guy the ball. That ref must have felt like slapping that kid. These ******* rookies are now doing this look at me I did my job thing. Give me my trophy, **** showing any respect or humility. Getting on my last nerve. Bad indicator IMO. Connor and Ridley toss the ball to the ref.

I doubt he meant any disrespect to the ref.

You got a lot from that huh, wow.

Jesus ******* Christ you will whine about anything you possibly can...

Go sit in your lazy boy, pop in that VHS of the "good ole years" and relax.

You mean the identical thing that AB has done on every 1st down he's ever gotten his entire career? Bell did it all the time too. I think it's become the Steeler's "team move" on 1st downs the last several years. I can't believe you've never noticed it.

Never liked that either. Yes, seems to be becoming a Steeler thing.

Steelers started doing it since spiking the ball after a first down is a dead ball foul. So dropping the ball on the ground became the thing. If I was coaching, I'd teach to get the ball to the refs as fast as possible to start the next play, and they do that during hurry up. outside of that, expect the dropsies.

I watched a highlight of some receiver do the first down signal when he was stopped four yards short of the first. I'd complain about that.

Cam Newton wasted time signaling first down, talking to Saints before halftime

With 34 seconds left in the first half on Monday night, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton ran up the middle for a first down. The clock was running, and he should have either called timeout immediately or hurried the offense back to the line. That’s not what he did.

Instead, Newton got up, walked toward the end zone, made a first down signal, and then slowly walked back toward the line of scrimmage, stopping to exchange words with Saints linebacker Alex Anzalone. The Panthers finally called timeout with 23 seconds remaining before halftime.

Newton had wasted 11 seconds, and two plays later he threw an interception in the end zone. It’s impossible to say what would have happened if Newton had managed the clock better, but it seems likely that the Panthers wouldn’t have called a pass into the end zone if they had had more time at that point.

I thought it was a leveon bell thing who got it from Tomlinson. But I could be wrong. I agree show some respect and give it to the ref

I've seen AB do it in time crunch needs and though what a **** stick...................

Salute the nation
