Looks like Landry is our starter this week.

Faggotry aside, I think we can handle 1-5 KC either way.

Landry just has to protect the ball like Vick did, and we'll notch another win. Then Ben will be back and we can set about the business of winning this ******* division. Starting with Cincy's paper tiger punk ***.

If they handled Arizona, who is a better team than KC........ KC shouldn't be a big problem.

With a backup QB and the coaches stressed, that helps with the normalcy of Tomlin to play down to them.

KC has the best NT in the league and the best pass rushing combo against a backup center, LT, and a QB in his 1st NFL start. That would stress me a little-especially if I was the OC. And I do wonder what Tomlin's career record is against under .500 teams is since some seem to suggest losing to them is normal.

All the more reason we needed to sign another QB. KCs defense is solid upfront and chances are we will give up some sacks. If landry gets hurt we are either putting in a gimpy ben or some guy that practiced with the team for a whole 3-4 days. Does not make sense?

In a normal year, I would say I agree to this statement. However, the Chiefs D is HORRIBLE this year, that "best NT in the league" and "best pass rushing combo" isn't netting them very much. Houston hasn't done a thing the last three games, and they are giving up 372 passing yards PER GAME! Not to mention 26.5 pts per game, good for 24th in the league. Let that sink in a little bit...372 passing yards allowed per game. That's on pace to allow nearly 6,000 yards of passing offense on the year.

As for Tomlins record against sub .500 teams, this is brought up every year, and it's blown out of proportion every year. They have laid some stinkers against some pretty bad teams, but they also beat those poor teams more often than not.

I agree, Landry went in with the team ahead, and our defense just killing. can he go 4 quarters without falling apart with all the pressures that go along with a hot rod team like the Steelers? I don't want to discredit his performance in any way, but if he starts against KC and we get beat by another bottom of the barrel team again, like we did with the ravens???? it will be another stressful season for the best fans in the sport.

Excellent point. I'll no longer "bash" Landry", as I have in the past - he performed well and won the game for us last week; BUT, I am VERY CONCERNED about putting him under the fire of KC's defense. Even Ben struggles against them...

I'll continue to support Landry and pray that Coach Haley comes up w/ a game plan to 1) Not get Landry killed 2) Win the game

I have no idea why everyone thinks we need to sign another QB. I know that new is always better, and I know some clowns always want us to sign Tebow, but there is no one out there that can be useful at all on Sunday. "New Player A" will not be getting any snaps in practice because Jones and Ben will be taking them all. Thus best option in an emergency is either a gimpy Ben handing off and/or playing entirely out of shotgun or Tyler Murphy (who will be running the scout team this week). At least those guys know the terminology unlike somebody new off the street.

If ben is gimpy he should not be on the field. If we have no backup anything can happen. Landry could get wiped out on the first play. If that happens we are basically throwing this game away. We are already 1-2 in the conference i don't think it's a good idea to count this game as meaningless. Someone had to be designated as the backup. If Ben can't go i guess murphy is the only viable option

If Ben can't go and Landry gets hurt on the first play, then the game is lost whether we sign Matt Flynn and put him in or put Tyler Murphy in or run the wildcat exclusively. No QB signed off the street on Tuesday and not having any practice reps is going to be able to function in our offense any more than Tyler Murphy who is running our scout offense this week.

And I still think "gimpy" Ben can hand the ball off. Tomlin did it before...when Batch started against the Rams on Dec 24, 2012.

Y'all are going to look awful bad when Jones goes 20-24 for 400 yds and 6 td's.

Great, Jones can do that all the time...
A) I don't mind being wrong,
and
B) do you know what injury fill in backups that excel are worth on the trade market? my gosh we could get a first rounder just for his rights before his next contract..

Until proven otherwise the following is what sums this up the most for me..

wouldn't that be great if laundry lights up the chiefs. Then we can trade him for 2 first round picks.

I'd settle for him keeping the defense honest and keeping Brown happy.

I'm frankly just happy for Landry Jones. About time he got to shut some of us the hell up.

See, if you truly believe (as I do, that Tomlin essentially throws a dart at a dart-board to gameplan). Then you must believe that every now and then, that dart is going to coincidentally happen to land accidentally in precisely the right position for that week. Maybe, it's Landry's week! Perhaps the dart lands on the 4 TD, no int spot on the board and further it nudges into the 165 yards all-purpose (mostly rushing) for Bell.

Ya... I think that's it.

IMO, we are more likely to see Jones start with Ben as the back-up. Ben may be determined "able" to play but should not ideally play unless it's an emergency. Jones will have his chance. If he can make a few throws and keep away from the pick 6, we should be able to win with him. This way we save Ben the opportunity to re-injure himself.

Not sure what we will get out of Jones against Kanas City but he took a big step moving the ball as he die Sunday. If we get one TD in the first half we are a head of the game than Vic leading the offense. Being at the game and sitting in the cheap seats in the end zone, many time we had a man open and Vic did not throw the ball, he waited till the coverage was on them or decided to run.. Watching Jones he at least saw the open receiver, he saw the blitz and threw to hot read, he may have missed a couple throws but he looked in control.

I think laundry will do just fine. It's our left tackle I'm a little worried about. If he does good, landry will have a better chance of doing good. LJones is an upgrade over Mr.Vick. I agree Tyrod shoiuld be dressed, ben NOT dressed.

Salute the nation

Hopefully Landry will get us by another week but I'm not sure I have as much faith in him as most of you. He made really good throws last week but from what I've seen from him in pre-season and the last game is he don't typically go through his progressions and will force the throw to his first read even if they're covered which could add up to INTs (similar to the int on the 2 point conversion). But as long as our WRs can get open and Haley gives him good quick hit reads he should do very well.

I think he has better instincts / reads than Vick. I mean the guy came in cold off the bench with probably little to no practice reps with the first team and sparked the offense. He picked up the blitzes and found the hot reads. Vick could have easily threw 4-5 picks and could not move the ball. Heath and Bell out of the backfield should be Landrys best friends, especially if the line struggles.

Where did all those people who wanted to cut him the last 3 years go?

Obx I was definitely one of him.. but I will root for him like crazy on Sunday

If he starts the gameplan has to be take care of the football and avoid deep dropbacks that allow the KC pass rush a chance to get to him. Gonna be interesting on both sides of our tackles, especially with RangerUP at LT going against Hali.
