"Why such a given? He hadn't missed one since his rookie season, and even with the longer tries this season Gostkowski was a perfect 52-of-52 on one-pointers. Whoops. Guess the NFL got its wish this offseason when it pushed back XP tries 13 yards — the rule clearly has made a difference.

And the horrible irony for the Patriots? It was their rule proposal the league enacted at the league's spring meeting. It hasn't been the easiest season for the Patriots, as great as they are, in relation to league issues — first deflate-gate, and now this."

I respect the Rats. The Bengals, while backed by trailer-trash wanna-be miscreants still can't even begin to compare to my overwhelming, seething hatred of the cheaters.

Every time they lose, I find something more to be happy about.

The funny thing is.. you know the *s are always looking for any small advantage they can get, knowing full well that these "small" advantages add up over time into really large ones

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the *s thought they could steal a couple cheap points, maybe even Ws, here and there knowing they have an automatic kicker and most teams will miss an XP against them occasionally

The delicious backfire

Serves them right! The Super Bowl was basically given to them last year on the dumbest call ever (still can't believe that). So now they miss an extra point that basically seals the deal for them. Oh well...
