Live Le’Veon Bell News

He should be in camp. This is a 13-3 football team with a new OC. Bell being out of camp hurts his own early regular game production ( and market value as a free agent ) , and shows other NFL teams how he views himself.

When does the slashing start on Bell Jersey's? 4:00PM Eastern is my guess!

The Steelers should have dealt this talented but bad apple prior to the draft. Now they are stuck in a bad marriage for a year that will likely end in divorce.

Coach, once again, they couldn’t trade him since he hadn’t signed his franchise tender. Once that is signed then sure , he can be traded but not until he does sign it.

Under the franchise tag bell can sit out NINE games and still collect ALL of his 14.5 million. Now let that sink in

No, he would lose half of that amount. Doesn't seem worth it considering he'd have to make up over $7 million in his next contract.

A deal between Le’Veon Bell and the Steelers is not expected to be reached by the 4 p.m. franchise tag deadline, according to a source. Bell set to play on the franchise tag for the second straight year barring unforeseen development.

Actually, I miss spoke, he does not have to sign his tag until week 10. If he waits and signs that late he does get paid his entire salary as the franchise tag is 100% guaranteed. so in essence Bell can it until week ten and still collect all of his money. this was actually posted on here before. you can look it up if you want I am just too lazy, but it is a fact.

Him not signing is expected. If he doesn't sign, can't wait for him to be gone.

I'm aware, but I wish they could have worked out a sign and trade.

We'll gladly take his 1,800 yards and 10 touchdowns this year.

Give me a sign and trade, and I would buy two free agent backs that can match the above numbers for about half of what Bell will me making in 2018. Then I would use the left over money to upgrade the defense.

This is really not smart on his part. By this time next year, he will be a 27 year old RB with injury problems, suspension problems, and a devastatingly heavy workload for several years. Who's going to give him more over a longer period than the Steelers are going to give him right now? He is greedy and a moron and if that deal is not signed by 4pm, I'm officially done rooting for him.

Who's going to trade for him? More importantly, who has the capability of trading for him?

Officially no deal. Training camp starts next week

I think they honestly thought they would be able to sign him long term this time and that's why they didn't do as you suggested. The concern now will be when does he report. He can really screw things up for the this offense that Fitchner will be installing.

Mark Madden just reporting that's its officially over, no deal was reached. Who knew?

I cannot verify either way
If this is the case and his plan Id be up for rescinding tag and using his salary to upgrade defense now. There is always someone cut around camp that still has a great year left.

The last thing the Steelers need at this point is drama and this is going to turn in to a three ring circus now with Bell not getting his money. I get it that it's all just part of the business but damn these things tend to blow up locker rooms. Now all that you will hear the entire training camp is when is he going to report, when is he going to play in a game, blah blah blah.

If he doesn't sign his tag and misses games, he does NOT get paid for the missed games. He will lose about $900,000 per game he misses. He is obviously all about the money so he will be there for game 1. Personally, I could care less. I can't wait for his greedy *** to be gone.

I would take the Jets 1, 2, and 3 next year and call it a day.

At this point sign the tag and get a 1 and I'd be happy.

I really don't want Bell's distractions this year.

I want this SOB traded, **** him.

I’d be all for him signing the tag and working out a deal with the Jets for their #1 which should be a damn good pick.

I tried to look this up and coudn't find anything regarding this rule. Very curious.

About how i thought this would go...

Non steeler league sources that have given anonymous quotes on Bell all virtually unanimous in the opinion that no RB is worth 14 mil per year... he will not be the prize he thinks he is based on his position

The good news is we get one more year out of Bell, won't be potentially crippled by dead money should he go the Woodley route, and he will get us at least an automatic 3rd round compensatory pick when he breaks the bank next year. I just can't see him having enough fuel in the tank to be worth too many more 14mil seasons. Let someone else run that risk. Run him til the wheels fall off in 2018.
