Over the last two off seasons there has been a constant stream from the media regarding Le’Veon Bell‘s contract situation. For many fans like myself, this dialogue within the media is frustrating and despite what Bell may think almost nobody within the Steelers fanbase would actually like to see him in another uniform, all of […]

Steelers shouldn't have to overpay because dipshits overpay for injury prone QBs.

QBs and pass rushers will get that big dollar because they are the hardest to replace. In a critical game changing position.

Steelers have thrown money Bell's way and he has shot them down everytime.

He wasn't greedy to start with but he is leaning that way now. He is showing he wants to play for a ****** team next year, as long as they pay him a ridiculous salary.

Nothing misunderstood. He isn't the brightest bulb on the shelf. His investment in his ****** rap helps confirm that. As well as his tree issues, and twitter obsession.

With the trading of Bryant we should be able to “afford” bell... both the slot and number 2 receivers are in rookie contracts and we have a tight end by committee system at te we really don’t have any huge contracts due to come up. we should be in a position to pay him... his numbers don’t lie he’s the best duel threat in football fukn pay him already... this big three on offense can take us to the Super Bowl if the defense holds up... we paid ben and ab time to pay bell or just fukn trade him and get it over with... we need him in camp learning the offense... this team can and should be special this year the pieces are there Colbert can’t do much better than what’s he’s done time for excuses is over goooooo steeeelllerrrssssss

Bell is one of the new hotness hip-hop athletes, so he's misunderstood by the predominantly old and white fan base.
He is also greedy, wanting twice as much money as the second-highest paid RB and bitching about the tag amount when it still makes him the highest-paid RB.

I'mA man who can't just sit
Rap my *** blow out ****

I want tha money Ching Ching Ching
Carry the rock while I sing

Pas the hundo's gotta light
Not the weed SUSPENTION bright

Me a want and don't know why
Baby baby piece of the pie

No right now my gut in shape
Not no more on measuring tape

I start out faster than last year
I've already put down the beer

My number go up and up
Pay the 17mil or I'll take the PUP

Settle me settle this
Misinterpreted an all a bliss

Me not greedy just want more
Football playing what I *****

I can do it yes I can
I'm the one and ONLY man

Booms hula booms hula BOOM

In answer the the question I think he is a little of booth

GREEDY and Misunderstood. He won't be back and someone else will have the rap man on their roster....???

Twice that of the next highest guy and still bitching. That blue chip shelf life left is shrinking fast . So is this teams chances of winning a Superbowl before BB hangs them up.

The problem with the Bell situation is tgat he wants his cake and eat it too. He is worth a shitload of cash. AB money for sure. However it cant be long term and guarenteed. Because he is far more likely to be injured. My opinion is tgat running backs should hit the open market a year before anyone else. That would prevent teams from using them up and cutting them loose.

There's nothing to misunderstand. He's greedy, whinny, and bitchy.

Greedy. Selfish. Thinks he's worth more than he really is. Bell is a good all-around back, a chain mover type, but slow and hits very few big plays.* Could be a better red zone or 4th and 1 type of runner. His prime, I think is nearly over as a running back.** I wish we could have worked out a sign and trade.

It's Bell first and everyone else 15th. A bit of a risk off the field. On the field, his character seems good.

Those lyrics are top notch.

Bell has been the one of the top, if not the top back in the league since he entered. Steelers got him for about a million a year the 1st 4 years. And if you add last year, Seelers have had the best back in the league for an average of 3.2m per year, a steal. Going forward he deserves to recoup some of that money, I would like to see some kind of deal that would pay him 9-11 mil base plus incentives that could take him to his demand of 17m. But then again, I don't get into studying how contracts work

Run him til the wheels fall off this year, then let him go UFA. He will be a 27 year old running back with lots of miles on those knees. There's no reason to overpay for him with a long term contract after this year. Let him go and take the compensatory pick in 20. We can go to the draft and find a new RB next year.

Is he greedy? I think he is comparing his numbers to other players and he wants to be paid based on his stats rather than his position. The NFL slots pay based on positions and if you look at the RB position he's almost 50% more than the next RB in pay. Given the short career spans of RBs, he just isn't getting that money from us. Anyone who signs him next year is going to front load his contract so they can get him off their books after 2 or so years with minimal cap hit.

If those are my two choices, then def. greedy.

I mean, he's definitely greedy no matter how you slice it. And he's definitely not misunderstood. I think if you're trying to find a "positive" word to serve as the counter to "greedy" then maybe "ambitious" would be a better word. We all understand his position - he thinks RBs are underpaid so he wants to set that market, and he wants to make as much money as he can for himself.

Problem is, at no point is "winning games for the Steelers" a priority here. He can SAY it is, but denying every contract they've offered and just demanding more and trying to put the team in cap hell is fundamentally opposed to that, so I don't want to hear it

when you turn down almost 2x the next highest paid person at your position its pure greed. The Steelers contract would have reset the RB position which Bell claims he wants to do but obviously that's not the case.

How long is APs contact factored into the franchise tag?

Greedy! Run him hard this year and make him earn that tag money and then move on from Bell. What have we won exactly since he’s been here? Nothing!
Let some other foolish owner pay this guy. We don’t need to overpay for his or any RBs services.
