No ******* way he leaves 14.5 mil on the table. I don't see a trade either. He'd be crazy to not sign a multi year deal though imo.
 
At least 2 of the writers over at the PG are now saying they think it would be better not to take on Bell's huge cap hit. And, they are saying the two sides aren't really close on a deal. The only one saying that is Bell. And, they said him running his mouth the last week or so isn't helping his cause.

Exactly. Like I said, how did spending a ****-ton of cap money on one player work for the Ravens? The Steelers have too many other highly-paid players (Ben, AB, Tuitt, Heyward) to pay Bell what he wants, besides which with his injury history and two drug suspensions I don't try to re-sign him after one more franchise tag year anyway. Next year he can play under the tag or not play at all, after that let him walk, and plan and draft accordingly.

400+ touches last year...that is a big number..I tend to agree franchise him 1 more season and move on.
 
Been saying it for quite some time now, Tag this year and let him walk next year. One thing though.......if any team is dumb

This is a new revelation? He talks that he is a team guy, but then his next sentence is about being the highest paid back because he's a RB and WR or he's sitting.

I know he won't give up the 14 million. But he will be disgruntled because we tagged him and it will show in his play and prep all year and that's not good for the team.
Can you believe he will be upset with 14 million for a year to play football. I tell you the more I hear deal like this with spoiled athletes the more I get sick. Because of all the **** that went on this year in the NFL with the kneeling and bullshit I did not watch much. And probably won't this coming year.

I agree. I say offer him an offer similar to the one he turned down last year and see what happens and live with the outcome. If he signs, great, we have the best RB in the league for X more years. If he turns it down, **** him. Sign someone else and use his $$$ to go get a starting ILB to replace Shazier and/or a S to replace Mitchell's sorry ***.
