Well I got my hand smacked for posting the entire article so you'll have to pay to see it.

Column: Let’s get real about Steelers’ ‘culture’
FEATURED
By Dejan
Only four days remain until the Steelers report to Saint Vincent College.

Or, in the case of one conspicuously humble wide receiver …
(Insert video of AB)
… yeah, that’s how they’ll roll.

Ha! Remember that circus?

Remember Antonio Brown coasting up to the dorms a couple summers ago in that $50,000 custom matte-black-and-Pittsburgh-gold Rolls Royce?

Remember when that was the fuss kicked up heading into camp?

Good times, man. Good times.

And you know, they still will be. Quite possibly, they’ll be great times.

When I broke the Martavis Bryant story on this site back in March, the immediate reaction from the Nation — beyond melting our servers into syrup, of course — was disbelief.

‘Who else is reporting this? Maybe it isn’t true.’

And then, once other outlets scurried to confirm …

‘There’s no way he could be this stupid! Just no way!’

Well, actually, he was that stupid. Sensationally so. And he earned every bit of the NFL’s full-season suspension for substance abuse.

Outrage ensued.

And now, of course, it’s multiplied many times over with the news, broken last month by Mark Madden of 105.9 the X, that Le’Veon Bell is set to be suspended four games for the same offense. This after Bell was able to slip away from much public damage from that public pot arrest on McKnight Road two years ago, largely because most of us — myself included — blamed the passenger, LeGarrette Blount.

Dumb, dumber and dumbest.

And by dumbest, I’m referring to myself for ever having defended either of Bryant or Bell.

I don't need to make it a culture thing, or a black thing, or a Tomlin thing

I identify it as it truly is a dumb selfish act from two players obviously that have trouble following rules outlined for every player in the NFL.

I don't recall one poster ever bringing race into the equation in reference to the term "culture".

Thank you DK. I think I'm going to go sign up. Excellent article..

What's the basic premise? Tell me it isn't one of those articles about the Steelers somehow being held to a higher standard or something to that effect.

Nah read it. It's a good read.

Nah you should sign up to check it out. A years subscription is well worth it.

I signed up had considered it before did today

$1.50 per month if you do a 3 year subscription. I only follow the Steelers and didn't feel the need to pay for news for just one team. I signed up late last year. I used to read DK's articles when he was at the Trib and his stuff is spot on.

I think its a **** boi problem which I equate to millenials. Want more without earning it, entitled, spoiled, bratty and unaccountable. AND SO ******* SENSITIVE.

I'm part of that millenial generation. Most of my generation sucks. It's a lot to do with up bringing and mommy and daddy saying you can and deserve anything

You serious? Its always "its acceptable to them cause Tomlin relates" its always a black thing by some posters.

I was given a warning yesterday that I am in danger of being banned for going down this road. I have a feeling you might be safe though lol.

Great write. Thx Dejan.

Couldn't agree more. Abso- ******-lutely. I want to defend these dudes sometimes but they make it so hard. These dudes all wanna be "about that life" but they fail to realize that rules are rules and if you work for somebody no matter who you are you gotta follow the rules. If you **** that up just be a man about it, own it, and keep it moving.

Sad, but true.

If you are "gifted" you receive "gifts". That is made abundantly clear to everyone else pretty much from middle school on.

Why I remember sitting in In School Suspension for taking the day off for Sr. Skip Day. Yep, sanctioned Sr. Skip Day in school. My mother had even called in for me and said I'd be out that day. Hell I'd even gone off with the School Student Body President so we could get some award plaques for the upcoming award day. But, nonetheless, there we sat in I.S.S.

Do you suppose the star athlete in the school, who had missed God-only-knows how many days had ever sat a minute in I.S.S. for his skipped days?

No. He had not.

The rules are very clear. There are none for the athletes. Until there are and then the athletes go all ape-**** crazy trying to figure out why there are suddenly these ridiculous unrealistic expectations that no reasonable person could ever live up to.

I am glad SOME of that group realizes what is generally true about that generation. I agree that, generally speaking, the above is true. I know a guy who had a kid who - by the time he graduated high school - still did not know, or didn't want to, make his own sandwich or EVEN pour his own glass of milk.

I am baffled how this is possible, other than having parents who don't step up and tell the kid to grow up some. He also demanded, and was granted, several (8?) different sets of golf clubs.

I was happy when my parents bought me a single set of clubs, and they were low end (Spalding). It never crossed my mind to ask for yet another, better, set of clubs.

The stuff this generation asks/whines for never even crossed my mind. I was given no money for free, but would be paid for doing yard work (which I thought was like stealing because I got $20 for mowing the whole yard).

Some will say every older generation whines about the current one, but, even if that's the case, it is 100% warranted in this case.

I'll admit that I was spoiled when I was in my elementary days. What made me grow up really was sports, believe it or not. I understand the whole jockey culture and preferred treatment. I played high school football for two years, so I saw a lot of "star" students get to do whatever they wanted. My school also had a hockey team which was a completely different culture. Hockey is where I learned to work for my own gear, be accountable for my teammates and to really just grow up and understand nothing is given. Not saying every football player is entitled, spoiled brats, cause I'm sure in Canada hockey spoils their stars as well. It's just hockey for me made me realize I had to work hard.
