Let’s reflect on the roster situation.

Loved Rogers when he first came into the league. Ben and the team seemed to be real high on him. It just never showed up on the field. Sure he got injured but he hasn't shown anything to say he has a roster spot. He will be fighting for a spot with everyone else. Last year, Switzer was a better WR than Rogers and Switzer was our No. 1 return guy. In my mind, Switzer has a spot before Rogers does, hands down. Things can change in the pre-season but as we sit, Rogers is behind Switzer.

Rookie Gray is a guard, not a tackle.

Any IC, Rogers played in 5 games last year after coming back from his torn ACL. That's why he had 7 catches vs Cincinnati and only 11 on the season.

We can call him a G, but you can damn sure bet the Steelers will be looking at him hard at RG and RT for position flexibility. As that is how they like their O-linemen.Position flexible.

Agree, I'd flip Dobbs and Rudolph and Boz sticking is by no means certain (I hope) and I'd put Berry in that category too.

Matakevich is your ST leading tackler. I think he makes the roster. Also Zach Banner probably makes the team.

Thanks, I must have been impersonating Coach. I thought I read the numbers I posted but must have misinterpreted them as I was reading......................

I knew he didn't play a full season but 11-12 catches in 5 games doesn't seal a roster spot and like I said it takes awhile for proper healing from his kind of injury, so maybe he will be more of his former self. If not, can't hold onto the past. The Cincinnati game was an anomaly due to circumstances of player douchbaggery and mind set of team.

Salute the nation

I pulled this list directly from the official roster. He’s listed as an OT, draft card said OT, and Colbert said he played OT but has potential to be a guard based off of his body type.

Rookie Gray Is a tackle, with potential to possibly be versatile as a guard.

Does this mean Burns is out the door, that will be a hard choose for Tomlin , to admit a first round bust.

I could see Burns being traded for a draft pick, near final cuts if we don't experience any DB injuries in preseason.

I can see them keeping 6 WR's this year. I can see the TE situation leading to less 2 TE sets and more WR playing time.

I like Red, and Banner is huge. But who do you cut to fit those 2 in?
I could see Buggs, U. Gilbert, Gray, or Sutton Smith going to the PS before they cut Red. Banner, maybe, depends on if they've seen all they need to see. If any of those rookies make a case for ST or snaps otherwise, it's a good problem to have. But I'd guess any 6 or 7th rounder this year could be PS material.
