Let us take a look at the Texans.

If they stop our run and bubble screens, gave over. That's all we have for most of the game, with the occasional deeper shot downfield.
DK is back, we will hit them running downhill
I'd bet there will be almost nothing run to the edges like tosses or sweeps...you probably will see some screen plays as That's one technique to slow a pass rush. That's the way you want to play them.

After watching Houston somewhat this year and how they play defense, it reminded me a lot of the way to Steelers play or want to play defense. I know they technically say they run a 43, but the way they use their outside speed pass, rushers, and backside coverage reminds me of the Steelers defense.
So the way I would attack this defense, is the same way successful teams have attacked our defense.
You and the Steelers, obviouslyhave seen how other teams take advantage of our outside rushers and coverage schemes.
I would personally attack the middle of the field in the passing game with play action. Of course that requires our running game to have some semblance of success.
If we do that we can score in the low 20s possible. Added bonuses for any special teams or defensive touchdowns.

What y'all eating Monday night?

I’m all out of Jalapeño poppers, BUT I’m taking a full gallon freezer bag out of my garden Jalapeño pepper and going to make a new supply. Hope to do Saturday so I’m ready for the BIG 1st PLAYOFF WIN IN YEARS !!!!!

I think both JAX and NE are beatable this week by their opponents! Get Some!

we have Tomlin.

'nuff said

I think winning the game they have is the only thing on my mind. That in itself is enough to worry about.

but.

Being the vengeful long minded person that I am,I'd want either the pats***** or jagoffs.

No thanks. Buffalo is probably our worst matchup. They have killed us the past 2x. I think next worst is NE. We did beat them, but we got a ton of turnovers to squeak by. The rest of the teams I think we match up well with and would be 50/50 games. Buffalo I would give us a maybe 20% chance of winning.

I think if we actually move onto the second round, II feel home field advantage is HUGE.

Buffalo has been playing weak lately and this would be the time we have a good a chance as any to beat.

You're probably right on the better match ups, but our Tomlin lead teams seem to need an underdog mentality.

Either way, a second round game would be great.

Just heard a great comparison by Mueller on 93.7 -- The Texans look a whole lot like the Steelers in 2008. Young coach, young franchise QB, not flashy on offense, smothering defense.
They'd be breaking the mold of Super Bowl winners with that offense over the course of a playoff run. In the moment, I'm concerned with the big play. Our defense played well against Baltimore, except for some major breakdowns and those breakdowns were a disaster. Houston has enough weapons for quick strikes. Offensively, I'm worried we'll go into full turtle mode to avoid turning the ball over.

That was because they wanted to contain Lamar and picked their poison, so yeah he got a couple big passes. That won't be a problem with Stroud. As far as their receivers take away Collins ( have Ramsey help Porter) and the rest are slightly better than our scrubs. We should be able to suppress their offense. Their running game averages low YPC.

That would also totally embolden Tomlin and Rooney to keep pursuing this model.

I thought our D was bad last week...not only the three long TDs, the long pass on 4th and 7 to set up the miss, Henry averaged 5 YPG and ran for 126. The Ravens only ran 48 plays to gain 359 yards - 7.5 yards per play.

If Loop hits that kick, the narrative heading into the offseason is how the "historic" defense collapsed when needed.

A defense should be able to contain Lamar without having complete breakdowns leaving WRs open by 25 yards. As far as Houston goes, that butt whooping is still fresh in my memory.

Our “D” should win their “O”

the question comes down to our offense. Can they play up to that defenseive line they have???

That is the real question.

Aaaa-Ron is going to have to move a little more, run up the gut, actual play actions that mean something, and lastly but seriously…… there is a middle of the field, so USE IT !!!!

You’re a braver man than me. I couldn’t bear losing to the Pats again. I wouldn’t want to take the chance.
Seeking revenge doesn’t mean you’ll get it!

Second round game would be great and Buffalo is certainly a Jekyll and Hyde team. They can look unbeatable or like the worst team in the league, sometimes in the same game. Allen is used to the big games in various environments, and i just think he has our number now. I think it would take bad Josh to show up for at least a half and give us like 3 turnovers to have a legit shot
