No way it falls like that but would love it!

I don’t think they go toward Skat. They could have just kept Najee who is a similar prospect with better hands. I think they want a more explosive back. Or a back with the potential to be more explosive…

I don't want any part of Skattebo. A smaller, slower Najee imo. They need a back that's good in zone blocking, since that's what they are trying to run.

Last one today, whole different direction, Dart was drafted Very early, like 12 iirc

Alexander at 162? No way will he be there.

If they are able to trade down this year, they absolutely need to do that. Here's a mock with the doing just that:

Traded 1.21 with the Bears for 2.36 and 3.70

2.36: Walter Nolan, DE
3.70: Quinshon Judkins, RB
3.83: Joshua Farmer, DE
4.123: Charles Grant, OT
5.156: Trey Wedig, OG
6.185: Hunter Wohler, S
7.229: Nazir Stackhouse, NT

The defensive lines needs so much right now and there isnt much talent left in free agency at dline especially that fits the 3-4.

I expect they will draft at least 2 dline, but won't be surprised at all if they go for three. They need a starter at LE, a capable run stuffing nose, and desperately need depth upgrades and someone that can get experience behind Cam and spell him to keep him fresh.

Note that I only traded down once in this draft, but I'd be thrilled if Omar was aggressive about trading down a couple times and acquiring picks. They could really use them to improve the depth on the team.

Doubled up on the porous Dline. Debated drafting RB sooner but think Howard deserves a look.

Travis is an athletic safeguard at LT.

With Williams and Black that run D gets a needed boost.

Like Neal well enough but there was a run before I took him.

I went heavy offense in this one. Still managed a solid run stuffer for the Dline…

Yeah, I don't see Dart making it out of the 1st and maybe not even to our pick. If he is their guy, I firmly believe they will move up to get him. I sure hope it doesn't cost them their 3rd round pick this year as they desperately need a DL.

change him for a CB, what do you think of Watts in the 2nd?
Haven’t studied the safeties much. Not sure that need is all that high. We may need to draft a developmental edge with letting Moon go. Hopefully though aside from possession receiver, DT and RB we just go best available.

I like Henderson but he is too similar to the two we have. I think we go big and fast to offset two shorter guys.

I think Watts can play Nickel CB, box, cover 2 safety a la Branch. He will be your Nickel this year from the first day

With giving up a 2nd for a WR. Unless the guy they live is there at 21, they should 100% trade back

With this draft not being one of the strongest ones in recent memory just adds to the common sense where trading down in 1 just seems ideal. Of course a great value could always fall to them but that loss of a 2nd hurts them a little with having so many needs…

from the same site:

Hooker isn't a great option. Neither are other names like Joe Milton or drafting Jaxon Dart in the first round. But that's what Pittsburgh is left with. So, maybe they give Detroit a call, offer them a sixth-round pick and try to add the backup quarterback.

a 6th for Hooker could be arguably better than a 1st for Dart.

Unpopular opinion but give me Hampton first or Jeanty. Hampton seems like a Steeler RB, we have had great luck with UNC RB, won 2 superbowls with the last one. Stud RB has been missing for way too long. These two look special, have better odds of making it than another reach on a rd 1 QB.
After Najee and Pickett people will not be happy with either in the first but I saw if you're gambling gamble on a stud RB. If we were 1 stud DL away from a great defense I would go DT, but we aren't. A top tier RB could make all the difference, takes alot of pressure off the QB as well. We aren't winning anything this year anyway. Rodgers with one of these guys, Pickens and Metcalf would have a punchers chance to be a high powered offense. Atleast it would be fun to watch. Steelers haven't been fun to watch for the better part of a decade. Offense needs a big spark.
