Let me tell you one got damn thing..

I'm just real glad they got a legit first round in the second because Minkah Fitzpatrick sure as **** is not playing like one and I think you can over under his teammate meltdown at 4 or 5 more games.

Dude.... what do you want from Fitzpatrick?

Give me 1....won.....one.....example of what you know his assignment is on ANY PLAY EVER.

Team is 4-0 for 1st time since 1979.

They are winning — are you expecting him to be the teams most dangerous offensive player this year again?

Just chill. You know dick. 4-0. Enjoy.

He hasn't made a single play on a pass through four games.

He did not make much of an impact the last month or so of last season either.

It's definitely a concern.

Dont know his specific assignments, but I'm pretty sure they don't involve letting other players run behind you.

So to be clear his job as a FS is to let people catch the ball over the linebacker. He has zero plays on the ball, zero interceptions and is tackling like ****. I love the, they won't throw against him argument. Ha ha. Watch the games. He is playing like a stiff and if the other teams wer actually refusing to throw it over the middle they would be done. He has done nothing for a 1/4 of the season.

Chase is what I thought we were gonna get with Limas.

Claypool is such a physical freak. His best play of the day was the one the officials called back for no reason. At some point you hope Johnson settles in because his skillset combined with Claypool would make for a very formidable 1-2 punch and allow guys like JuJu, Ebron, etc. even more space.

Claypool showed signs of being excellent in his first 3 NFL games, In game 4 he played better than Johnson can dream, of.

Coming into the draft I liked 3 WR's a lot. They were Ruggs, who I hoped would be there for us in round two, Jefferson who looked that smooth and clutch along with fast, and Claypool who I felt had early first round tools.

While all three players are doing well as rookies, I now believe the Steelers got the best wide receiver in the 2020 draft which was very deep at receiver.

Why did the Steeler pick a WR with our top pick? We will likely lose Ju-ju in free agency, and they don't view Johnson or Washington as a good #1 or #3 starting combination.

I like Johnson, ( when healthy ) as #3 WR this year, not as go to man, a red zone threat, or a deep threat. Claypool checks all three of those boxes, plus he's a monster blocker and as we saw good option as a surprise runner.
No where did I say Dionte is as good as Claypool or have the physical tools, but Johnson is still a very dangerous weapon when healthy and a good compliment to claypool and JuJu

Good one, he's already achieved Al Bundy status. 4 touchdowns, one game. A rare club to be in,
now that was funny as hell. well played.

It’s real early, but he reminds me of a young Larry Fitzgerald...but a bit faster
He could just become unstoppable

A physical freak with a great mind for the position already and incredible work ethic to boot. I like Fiji's comparison, a young Larry Fitzgerald with some serious jets. What a start to his young career.

I guess while we are throwing praise I will throw more on. The last Steelers player in general to score 4 TD’s in one game apparently was back in Roy Jefferson in 1968. The guy looked like the only good thing we had on offense all day. I’m seriously excited to see where he can go from here. Also, another positive in having him have a game like this is other teams are going to start to game plan for him which should hopefully free up some other guys for Ben to spread the ball around.

From Alex Kozora:

– The first Steelers’ rookie in team history with four touchdowns in a game.

– Only the third Steeler ever with four of them. He joins WRs Roy Jefferson in 1968 and Ray Mathews in 1954 to accomplish that feat for the black and gold.

– He’s only the 19th rookie with four scores, the first since Bucs’ RB Doug Martin did so in 2012. He’s only the third receiver to reach this mark, the first since Buffalo’s Jerry Butler in 1979. Harlon Hill also did so in 1954.

A handful of other rookies with four TDs include: Emmitt Smith, Earl Campbell, Gale Sayers, and Jim Brown. Awfully good company to keep.

– He’s the first Steelers’ rookie with three receiving touchdowns since TE Eric Green in 1990.

– He’s the first Steelers’ rookie wideout with a rushing TD since Louis Lipps in 1984.

– And funny enough, this isn’t his first four-touchdown game. He had four receiving touchdowns as a senior against Navy, a 7/117/4 performance.

Ben is making great decisions, not forcing balls (his 'Bad Ben' tendency) and taking what the defense gives him. This hasn't ended up with him throwing for a ton of yards; but excellent effeciency and an excellent TD to INT ratio.

He's now found his deep threat.

Well said Coach.

Though I will point out, he's better than your 3rd round grade that the Steelers 'reached for in the 2nd round' for.

But like you, I am happy as hell to have Mapletron!

Mapletron, that's great. Hope it goes viral and sticks (kudos Guru or Sask, can't remember which one of you called it).

Sask and Paul were pimping him hard. Damn good calls.

What was the knock on Claypool that he lasted until the middle of the second round? He had the level of competition, size, measurables, etc.

Was talking about the nickname, but yes! Sask and PaulG (haven't seen him lately), our friends north of the border called it is right.

More from the peanut head.

Round four ) Guard Kevin Dotson Who? This is a small school player, who I don't recall looking good in the college all start practices or games where he could have proved something was a mystery pick. I checked, Dotson was hurt and underwent surgery and did not attend the senior bowl. He has good timed speed, but reports say he's not agile and has issues with pass blocking. In general, I want to see small school draft prospects prove they can play in the college all-star games. The Steelers have issues on OL. Pouncey is expensive an in decline; age is an issue elsewhere. Dotson is likely not to get a hat. He's raw, and developmental. C+

Well I wanted Taylor. What did the Browns accept from the Colts? Claypool brings size and speed to a WR unit that lacks both, but for as fast as he timed I don't see the type of separation you think a player who runs a 4.42 should have. Plays like a big TE.

He didn't really break out until his senior year.

No Knocks on Claypool, this was an insanely talented WR draft, one of the best ever. Everyone that went ahead of him had better college production, or a skillset that a team wanted. Claypool was a project, but has all of the measurables. His floor was high since he refused to be taken off of ST as a senior. Steelers love ST guys, turns out he can actually play and is developing faster than projected. He may end up being the best WR in this draft. Really lucky to get him. There was a big run in the 2nd round on WRs and if the Steelers didn't draft him, they had no shot of getting him in the 3rd.

How fitting..... this is the Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend ....

Claypool was FEASTING !!!!!!

Chase has been signing jerseys with Mapletron for a while now..... If sticking with the transformers theme ....... I would prefer he called himself IRONHIDE .....Weapons Specialist

Dotson didn't get an invite to the Combine or the Sr Bowl. He played in the East West Shrine game. Where are you getting this surgery info Coach?

Paul! Good to see you my brotha from a northern motha!

Claypool is just so crazy good. Wow. Don't see much weakness in his game either, but of course teams are gonna adjust. But can they really adjust to the "Mapletron"?
