I’m sure there’s at least $5M left after cutting DeCastro. How about bringing back Nelson or Richard Sherman or another OT? Maybe Morgan Moses or Mitchell Schwartz on a 3-year deal?

They could really use a No. 3 EDGE to rotate in with Watt and Highsmith.

Add Sherman Houston and consider okung

Hello! They signed Trai Turner to a one-year deal. I am guessing that will take up any money saved by cutting DeCastro.

They can always give Ben some of his $$$ back....

Speaking of Ben...he is probably 2nd guessing his decision to return right about now..

If Trai is healthy, he will be a huge upgrade over DeCastro last year. We shall see. One year prove-it deal. He is only 28 so if he stays healthy and plays well, they could give him a 3 or 4 year deal after this season.
A healthy Turner will be a upgrade over a hurt DeCastro.. I would hope so. When both are fully healthy, DeCastro is without a doubt the better player.

Any details on deal for Turner? Seems obvious that they needed DeCastro cut before his signing, so it looks like any cap space savings would be minimal.

Franchise tag him and then trade him to Cleveland for two first round picks............ but ONLY after the trade deadline.!

There really isn’t a LT left besides Okung and he wants to get paid and isn’t even as good as Villanueva was. So maybe bring in Vernon or Houston and a CB like Josh Norman or Gareon Conley if we want to go young.

Norman/Sherman Houston /Oliver

1 year three mil deal. Not bad...

I think the STEELERS netted 5.6 mil savings after paying Turner.

Id be thrilled with either a backup edge guy or a slot corner... maybe poole if he is still available...

layne and pierre can play outside but neither can play slot...

But both of those depends on how the young guys look. If there is a breakout guy or two then bank it for next year

Earlier Huston was mentioned for edge and I was against that as I thought age / injury paid it's toll.

Has anyone heard anything as to his "GAS" left in the tank and possible cost?

Updated... that Nelson guy seems like hed fit in black and gold lol

I have a friend who knows his EX-girlfriend's brother who beat the **** out of a girl and stole her boufriend who said that he knows a gay guy (talking happy) that was walking by the stadium (Hienz) last week who had overheard a taxi driver saying that there was a burnt bridge involving NELSON, wasn't sure if it was the same Nelson that use to play for the PITTSBURGH STEELERS.

Just thought I'd mention this from my reliable source.

Nelson appears to be disappointed that while a lot of teams have shown interest, he's only receiving a 1 yr/3 million offer from the Eagles.
Tough year to be a FA

He probably would have made more staying in Pittsburgh. As most learn, the grass ain't always greener.
