Report: LeBeau, Arians discuss joining forces

With defensive coordinator Todd Bowles likely leaving the Cardinals, look for former Steelers coordinator Dick Lebeau to join former Steelers colleague Bruce Arians.

According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, LeBeau has talked with Arians about possibly joining Arizona Cardinals staff.

Let the rumors begin!

Sounds interesting, but the Cards were pretty aggressive on D. Wonder if he will keep it that way......

in other news... water is wet

Az has the secondary to help LeBeau. if he goes there they will be the topped rank D next year.

Good point. Arians was interviewed before a Sunday night game, and said that his theory on 3rd down was "blitz." When that doesn't work, "blitz more guys,"

He could do that because he had Peterson and Rodgers-Cromartie at CB. Wish the Steelers had those 2.

Simply incredible story. My *** wouldve been fish food

I suspect you may have posted this in the wrong thread.

If not, then go to the Konrad thread and note, "Lebeau would have swum the 9 miles in an hour."

does everyone forget our 2005 and 2008 runs already? It's easier to be aggressive when you have talent.

I hear Arizona is a nice place for old people to go when they retire.

I'm glad Dick found a new spot. Nothing is a gimme in the NFL, if that defense is better with him, then that goes acredit to Dick. Same if that defense stumbles, Dick gets the credit. Why the dwn pour of ill emotion towards him? He is no longer a STEELERs, so let it go. He gave us many GREAT D's and I am glad we had him as we did. Again, we used him in his best years, will be hard for AZ to top that.

Salute the nation

You should know that's how people around here are towards former players/coaches/staff. Hell there are some here that are still trying to run Ben off, it's a fickle group

Good for them but I still can't see hiring him as a DC at his age. Maybe hire him as a consultant. If I were a HC, I would want to know or, at least, think that who I hire is going to be there indefinitely. Why would you hire a coach knowing, for sure, he will be gone in a few years even if he is doing extremely well. Seems like a dumb decision to me.

shocker........
If I was betting real money.
Although Alby was saying on the news last night that DLB said he wanted to stay close to home, which would mean Cincy or Tennessee.

A new name for the Cardinals: Western Recyclers

Cincinnati could use a defense...

The only time they ever made a realistic run they put together both an offense AND a defense. They weren't too bad for a couple seasons. If Lebeau could get them sorted out again on defense Cinci could be about half organized. Course Brown could screw up just about anything...

Whoever gets him can look forward to being shredded by the Patriots..

We got lucky and didn't have to face the Pats* in the playoffs either of those years or 2010. I have exactly zero confidence we get to the SB's if we did.

I must say, Bruce A has done a heck of a job. Hi to all who remember me. You could say I'm back for a 2nd tour in these parts.
