according to this article...

In his two years in Pittsburgh, Cockrell has allowed just 1.05 yard per coverage snap trailing only Detroit’s Nevin Lawson and Jacksonville’s Aaron Colvin. Cockrell ranks ahead of Malcolm Butler and Jason Verett by relative large margins.

I mean by this article we can say our **** is pointed in the right direction.

:witless:

Cockrell is a great depth corner, and that's an extremely valuable part of the team. With that said, he's been a below average starter, but he's still young and learning, so that may change. I hope he can take the next step.

Maybe if we paid him 10 million a year he'd get the name recognition and be considered a good corner.

All he does is play solid week in and week out and fairly frequently create much needed timely turnovers while infrequently get burned...what a bum!

He is a better than average 2 getting paid peanuts, you need guys like this if you pay an OL, franchise QB and top WR...and soon RB too.

He's not your super star #1 CB. But he's solid and day in and day out does his job well. I think Villanueva, Tuitt, and perhaps Cockrell get extended this off season. I am not hopeful that Bell gets inked unless there's some verbiage about suspensions in his contract and he gets way less than the 17 million he thinks he is worth. Cockrell I feel would come in at a reasonable price so they might just extend him and get the #2 spot locked up.

For short time there it appeared as though **** would be working with butt. Now that the draft is over the gay **** burns trio remained in tack. With **** pointing forward in the right direction I'm hoping for no field collisions. GREAT job **** !!!!!!

Impossible to have a super star at every position.
best to just end this negativity if you intend to stick around here. you should know by now that we should always have Woodson and Blount at CB with Ike as our 3rd CB.

How can Cockrell be a 'below average starter' if he has the third best yard per coverage snap ave in the league? Asking for a friend.

I probably worded it wrong. It's just that in my opinion, he was a weak link, but that's not to say he sucked. I'd love to be able to upgrade on the outside, but I didn't see any realistic options to do so right now. I think he's a good player, and as a 3rd or 4th CB, I think he provides a ton of value, I just don't see him (as of right now) as a consistently good #2. Maybe there's hardly any in the league. And with him being young, maybe he can grow to become a legit starter. I hope he does.

so **** gets up for his platys. It would be hard not to like this guy.

So, you are saying you lime **** in his current position.

I've always liked Cockrell and don't see the liability that others see.

He generally holds his own and to think we have Deion Sanders in him is ludicrous...

Agree. I always thought he was decent enough.
