Landry Jones

Not true... the animal rights people would start whining about him here... that would be something they didnt have before...

I'm not necessarily an "animal rights" person, but I do own and love my dogs. Vick payed his debt, but I still don't want him on my team. Period. **** him.

Joe

Sorry Bermuda, just read your Vick comment after I posted. I also don't think Tebow would be bad. He's MUCH better than Jones, and arguably better than Bruce.
I understand Vick's not a long term answer, but if Ben were to go down this year, we have nothing!

Exactly. You don't NEED the guy to play QB, worst case is he has to finish a game in the extremely unlikely event Ben and Bruce both get hurt. Meantime you have have him play TE. That said I'm not real impressed that Bruce managed to hurt his throwing shoulder before camp even started.

I'd rather keep and develop LJ over a never-will-be like Teebs.Mettenberger would be a nice sign tho.

The deal is done, and much to my chagrin Landry Jones will make the 53 again. Whatever, if Ben gets hurt for more than two weeks the team is hooped anyhow.

I think Bruce hurt a finger on his left (non-throwing) hand. I think the report about a new shoulder injury was wrong.

We all see Jones as making the team, do we ever look on the wire and see IF we can get anyone else? I see no future for the Steelers under Jones and if Ben goes down we will be in for a long season under Jones. Look yesterday Tomlin has Jones take a knee with two minutes left. Any other coach or team in preseason would have tried more plays to see what players do. That told me enough on Jones and Tomlin thoughts.

At that point I am glad they got out with out any more injuries. I suspect they had enough to take back to the lab at that point if you will so they could turn over stones and see what was lurking there. Also they did have some guys put forth a few decent plays against starters and backups. Not sure what could have been gained from another 4 to 6 plays on offense and some hail Mary practice by the other guys on defense. Particularly with situational football being what it is at that point in the game they could have lost another player.

I have a tough time carrying about a 3rd string QB. Guys like Mettenburger are backup QBs not 3rd stringers. You don't stash guys like him if you are going to trade for him. Jones isn't great but I'm not giving away a draft pick to replace him. They've already traded their 5th (probably 4th) for Boykin. 3rd string QBs aren't worth that much to me.

he doesn't weigh a lot but I am sure carrying him for any significant distance would be tough
