Passing 4 for 10, 33 yards. 1 TD, 1 INT 42.9 QBR

Rushing 8 for 25 yards

While you can't really judge a rookie on one pre-season game. Jackson struggled with accuracy and reads and didn't look like he played much quarterback in college.

I wounder what M.Rudolf numbers would look like in comparison and 1st game preview.???

Will we see Rudolf in the first pre-season game is the real question.

Salute the nation

I saw some people gushing over him after a decent run and a touchdown pass. Someone even called out the Steelers for passing over Jackson to take Edmunds. I still saw a young QB who needs time to develop. He didn't seem to handle the pressure very well and he has a low release point. NBC did a good job showing his relatively slow release time as well. Flacco doesn't have anything to worry about yet.

Hopefully Tomlin starts Mason and brings in Dobbs. We don't need to see much of Landry as we know what we have in him.

LJ wouldn't have gotten the TD pass if not for a bullshit call...the first of many that will undermine this upcoming NFL season.

The TD pass was an easy read and throw with good up front pass protection. Ravens fans will play he's a rookie card, but lots of rookie QB's come in and flash skills as a passer. Jackson struggled with accuracy and reads vs a vanilla game 1 preseason defense. A double negative for any quarterback.

I watched Jackson play a few times in college.** He's not a good passer, or reader of college-level defenses and IMO will struggle on 3rd down, and piss his receivers off in the NFL This is not to be confused with arm strength or range, as Jackson has plenty of that. Based on how he runs with the ball, he could be fumble prone in the NFL.** Jackson's career accuracy in college was 57%,* and he threw 27 interceptions in 38 games.*** These numbers will not cut the mustard in NFL.

But coach, he'll learn. Counterpoint, his Wonderlic score was very low.* I have not seen a guy with a 12 or 14 succeed in the NFL as a starter in the past 15 years.

Joe Flacco is one of the most overpaid players in the NFL.* His job looks to be safe.

If I had to compare Jackson to an NFL QB, I'd say less refined Tyrod Taylor.

You could say I'm glad the Ravens picked him. Teams that overpay for mediocre QB's and miss on a first-round pick at quarterback are essentially screwed for years.

while Jackson is fast, his speed is not enough to get past good NFL defenses...hell the cougars sacked him something like 8 times in one game. He is going to have to learn to slide if he wants to survive in the NFL....

He is what he is...a qb with average accuracy and good speed....his best success might come if they make him into what Kordell was at the beginning, Slash.....

The Rats usually only carry 2 qbs. What are they going to do if Jackson struggles, while RG3 starts looking like the guy who had a great rookie season for the Skins? Right now I wouldn't want RG3 as my starter, but as a backup? If his head is on right, and with his body as healthy as it's been since he came into the league, he's far from the worst option a team could have coming off of the bench if the starter gets hurt.

They're going to keep 3 this year, I'd say. Joke Succo is getting worse every year...L337.

Jackson did not run a 40 at the combine or his pro day. If he wasn't hurt, I think this says he's not a fast as advertised and your right, I don't see him having enough speed to get past NFL defenses for big plays ( 20+ yards ) He'd better learn how to slide as he's a slender build type.

I must admit there was a time when Ben had that rough day in Jacksonville, with a stupid post game comment. and draft sites were mocking Jackson to the Steelers. That made me a little nervous.

I don't know if you watched the game, I had his first drive on the radio coming back from hockey.

He converted 3 third and longs on the TD drive. 2 passing (one being the TD) and one with his legs. I thought his velocity was great when I got home and watched his next few drives.

Jackson didn’t run the 40 not because he was hiding his true speed, but rather to emphasize to the clubs he was a QB only and a WR/RB evaluation was not an option.

his pick was pretty slow....and to the wrong side of the receiver....

I like Jackson but that pass what one he had trouble with at the Combine and is a staple of NFL offenses. If you cam;t throw a deep out the defense will shrink the field on you.

He is not an NFL QB. The more he plays, the more obvious it will be.

He could have said I'm only playing QB, and ran the 40. Was he hiding a slower than advertised 40? He could be a 4.50 type of guy. Good speed, but nothing special.

My prediction is the same as it was pre draft. He won't make it. At least I hope not. Maybe I'm a dick but I don't know if I've ever wanted a rookie to fail as bad as I want him to fail. I work in little Baltimore, er uh, Louisville.
This city will be full of purple jerseys again, last time was Vikings jerseys for Bridgewater.

Pre-season game number 2. 7 for 18 for Jackson. Well below 50% completion

Are you going to keep a running count game to game?

I could create a meme, "won't watch full Steelers game tape but keeps tabs on the rats forever more".

But why do all that with what's known.
