kenny PICKett

Kenny Pickett completed 76.9%% of his passes. That means 23.1% of Pickett's passes were interceptions. I guess in a sense, you could say he completed 100% of his passes.

So the throw to Muth that was pick was supposed to be thrown away… he was just trying to get rid of it with pressure bearing down on him.. he said he wasn’t trying to get it to Pat at all…
That's what it looked like to me as I was watching it live. It certainly was not a "terrible selfish throw," as the OP mistakenly said.

Mitch chucked one.
Sure did, the one that went off the $20m WR's hands...same guy that had one perfectly placed go right through his hands last week on what would have been a big play

For some reason I expected more of DJ as he was improving the hands last year, maybe he can only catch every other year?

Actually, DJ only started out last year wonderfully, with zero drops in his first ten games, then started to resort to his old self with seven drops in his last seven games, including two in the playoff loss to KC.

Maybe he just had a lucky stretch early last season. Or maybe the statisticians over at Pro Football Reference are confused, because they only list him with ONE drop in 2022, back in the first game against the Bengals. Not sure what they were looking at yesterday.

He got that money and now his hands don't work. He's certainly proving the people right who didn't want to overpay for him. Just no excuse at the professional level to be dropping balls like he does.

The guy I'd treat as my no.1 would be Pickens. Then Muth,Harris, then DJ and Claypools big *** is ******* worthless. Verdict is in.

The defense also didn't get a stop against Zach Wilson. They are allowed to make a play.

Aside from the INTs, can anyone explain why they rushed the snap after the long play to Pickens? The rushed play led to the bad short toss play to Warren. Why not milk the clock some more before snapping the ball? A simple run up the middle and the second interception never happens.
There was a question if he got the both feet down on the toe tap when he HAD possession. Kenny ran a quick play so as to keep NYJ from challenging the catch.

The pass DJ missed yesterday was tipped at the LOS. It was a zip ball, so the trajectory was off for a split second. I wouldn’t fault DJ for that one.

After only playing a total 2 quarters, and sparking them to a 10 point lead?
Did he piss in your corn flakes, because if Mitch finished the game I suspect the score would have ended up 24-9.
I found it on Twitter from the Pickett is named starter thread. I thought it was funny. Cripes, it’s not that serious.

Are you sure? Very clear he had two feet down with possession.

The play with 44 seconds left in the third was the play in question before the quick snap.

No it wasn't. Fourth quarter Pickett threw a long pass to Pickens, he caught it with 4:50 on the clock. The play clock started at 4:48 and they rushed the snap at around 4:28 with about 20 seconds still on the play clock. It was the short toss to Warren that lost 5 yards and led to the eventual interception on the following play. They should've snapped the ball with 3 seconds on the play clock and instead rushed the next play. I don't understand the clock management in this situation.

No, it wasn't tipped. Defender got his hand up late and almost got a finger on it, but the ball never changed its path.

That wasn’t the pass in question. It was the one on the sideline, with the toe tap.

Yes it was. I was the one who asked the question.
The play in question I was referring to was in the 3rd qtr with under a minute left. It was like 3rd and 5. Pickens made the catch, but didn’t look like he got both feet in. Pickett, wisely ran a quick snap on the next play. Although there was a penalty on it…illegal set/formation I think. But that was the play I was referring to.

The 4th qtr play you are referring to, involved a quick pitch to Warren. I understood the playcall, even by Canada’s standard, but execution was poor. If executed, it would have gained a few yards at a minimum and kept the clock running. Or it would have been a long gain maybe setting up Saleh calling timeouts. In any case, Kenny should have thrown that pass 30 rows into the stands instead of just to the finger tips to Muuh. Had he caught it, rhe Clock would have stopped for being tackles out of bounds.

That play wasn't going anywhere, because #94 for the Jets had blown by Daniels and was already well into the backfield before the fumble even happened.

Yeah…like I said had it been executed like it was supposed to, the play call was fine.

I just watched Kenny's press conference, got even more respect for him now. Took ownership of EVERY bad play he made, made no excuses. I like it

I saw that as well and talk about a good character person. I hope he goes a long way in righting this FRANCHISE.

Salute the nation

Yeah...you can say that about 95+% of play calls. They usually look great when they're executed perfectly.

The play call was not fine in that circumstance. The players were rushing around (for whatever reason), and they snapped the ball way too early on the play clock. All they had to do was run a simple play up the middle, like they do the vast majority of the time. No need to run toss sweeps when you're in a hurry (again, for some unknown cause) to get the play off, and your quarterback hasn't been getting much practice pitching the football to the outside.
