Keith Butler thing Eifert will be tough to cover (He’s on IR Keith)

Keith got mud sucked by that reporter. LOL! Goes to show how “serious” our coaching staff take preparation. I firmly believe they don’t go into games with contingency plans to take advantage of other teams weaknesses. They just plan for the game they want to play and stick with win or lose.

Vince Williams or Bostic?

Well it looks like Williams will miss the game Sunday so he will probably plan on using him to cover their best WR, with Burns on Tyler. Thankfully none of the Steelers 5 DL are hurt so 2DL will be available on short yardage and goal line situations.

Perhaps Butlers flub exposed an utter disrespect he has for the Bungles.... not knowing and not giving a **** who's playing or not playing for them. We'll kick their *** regardless.

It's not like the bungles are one of those sub .500 teams we always lose to.

Why does this guy still ha e a job?

Because when the Steelers complete this collapse of a season and miss the playoffs, somebody will then need to be fired. Upper management is happy with their Rooney Rule hire, his non-losing record, and the "3 Head Coaches in 50 Years" mantra...so it won't be Tomlin. It'll be this muppet.

Embarrassing and inexcusable. If he is not prepared how is the defense? Awful!

Laughingstock....

Butler’s blunder exposes him as potentially unfit for the job he holds. And maybe the accountability will move up a level to the man who supervises Butler.

If Butler’s brain fart wasn’t a one-time thing, Mike Tomlin knows or at least should know that Butler either isn’t putting in the work or can’t process the information, unless Tomlin also isn’t putting in the work or processing the information.

Indeed, if there’s a flaw so basic and fundamental in Butler’s understanding of the players he’ll be trying to stop on Sunday, how many other flaws exist that aren’t widely known, both as to Butler and as to Tomlin?

This Tyler Eifert thing should at a minimum get Rooney, a lawyer by training and trade, to ask some tough, pointed questions behind closed doors, the answers to which at a minimum could cause Rooney to view Butler and/or Tomlin differently as 2019 approaches.

I don't know, it was pretty embarrassing letting the Blake Bortles-led Jaguars put 45 points on them. They've stiffened up the run defense this season, but I saw some cracks for sure, especially against that trash-talking little **** Phillip Lindsay of the Broncos when he went off for almost 10 yards a pop.

To be fair, it was only 38 pts. They had a fumble recovery for a TD. Runners like Lindsay have always given the Steelers problems, long before Tomlin was here. It's an issue with the scheme itself.

Butler is so ******* stupid if someone told him the game was in Cincinnati he'd likely show up there.

AND that is a MAIN issue with this "D", NO in-game adjustments. Scheme is a part but NOT adjusting on the fly is totally rediculous on the coaching behalf. The offense is designed by nature to counter what the "D" is showing so the "D" must counter react with different looks continuously in game. PREPERATION is key to success........................ That and keeping TOMLINS hands off the "D"

Butler might be a dolt, but I blame the man who hired him. Remember Tomlin hired Todd Haley too. And Porter. His track record for hiring his staff is very poor. Think about that.

Clean house, rep!ace everybody, coaches, scouts, waterboys, everyone.

This stubborn, arrogant idea that just walking on the field is enough to win against lesser teams is one of the most glaring weaknesses that has never changed under Tomlin. We just need more smoke, obviously.

What about the "cheerleaders" doesn't seem like they've shown enough either...............

That’s a great point! The D sets up and stays in what they show! Look how, and I hate using the cheater coach as example but, New England’s D is never still! Moving all the time. How do offenses read that? They can’t!
Ben has been doing this game a long time. Why don’t they let him make more calls on plays. Even he has been upset with play calls in many games. But nothing changes!
We have more talent on both sides of the line, then any team out there, but had a 4 of 5 losing streak when we should have been playing better!!! So who is to blame if not the man in charge?????
Shouldn’t take a whole half of a game to finally start playing. That’s from NOT BEING PREPARED!!! Again, who’s to blame!
Time for new coaching blood!!!!

bs Kieth needs to go we need outside help.

Steelers brass got all over that **** in a hurry, forced that cop-out "apology."

Explanation from Bob Labriola's twitter feed:

Listening to the interview I did think it was a dumb question for him to ask.

This is why Butler has to go, not because of his brain fart about a Bengals TE on IR:

Per <s>@</s>dlolley_pgh, the Steelers have allowed a score in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter against the Browns, Bengals, Chargers, Raiders and Saints this season. Tied with the Browns and won against the Bengals. Lost to the Chargers, Raiders and Saints. <s>#</s>Steelers

Butler just needs to learn to speak in broad sweeping generalizations and platitudes.

He needs to unleash hell, while not living in his fears and lying in the bed he made. We accept that. The standard is the standard. Next man up!

What a wasted season. I still can't over keeping him after that shitshow in the playoffs against the Jags last year. Keith Butler single handedly gave Blake Bortles his starting job at the beginning of this season.

Hilarious reply to a Cincy board thread about this interview - "They know that if they just show up they'll beat us and don't spend time watching tape because we run largely the same outdated scheme."
