Keep JUJU cause D. Johnson isn’t that good

The guy who nobody even notices caught the first TD of the game, with 1/4 the snaps that DJ. gets.

a) JuJu is nowhere near the blocker Hines Ward was. On DJ's end around in the third quarter, he basically stopped, ran around in a semi-circle, blocked no one, and the guy who he should have blocked on the outside made the tackle. Could have been a huge play if it had been executed properly. And...

b) How quickly some of you have forgotten several key drops by Smith-Schuster at crucial points of important games in the past. He's doing better in clutch moments this year, for sure, but those critical mistakes are hard for me to overlook.

Bottom line is pay him like a #2, or let him walk. He's not worth breaking the bank, with the solid corps of other young receivers the Steelers already have.

Of all the receivers (and tight ends) on the team, JuJu is the one I trust most with the game on the line.

The Steelers might be proving having 3 2's is greater than having a 1 and a 2.
 
I had hopes for DJ this game. I thought it was a game to connect, get a healthy repetiore of passes with ben, build confidence etc. Maybe DJ will take longer. IDK but washington seems ready and hungry now. This is washingtons 3rd season. I really wish sometimes the steelers werent so stubborn with changing out personnell. I think that SOMETIMES they stick with someone too much and dont give others a shot. I kinda feel that way with washington. I'm not giving up on DJ. NO, I just think a healthier dose of washington might be what is needed .

It's almost comical how much he loses his footing. Doesn't matter where they play; he can't stay on his feet.
His catch radius is 4 inches as well.

Vontaze Burfict would disagree that JuJu can't block like Hines...
 
Did i miss the part where both JuJu and DJ are free agents this year? If the steelers let JuJu leave it will be a pure money decision. They already have DJ, Claypool, Washington and now Ray Ray looks like a contributor as well.

Same decision will have to be made with Dupree. They have Watt and Highsmith is looking like a good player already. You can't pay everybody. Decisions have to be made. I expect both JuJu and Dupree to get some pretty high offers that the steelers just can't match.

JuJu isn't Ward when it comes to blocking...but he is a hell of a tough receiver and would be missed

That's nice. I suppose you disagree with his own assessment that he cost the Steelers the games against the Saints in 2018 and Jets in 2019.

Yeah, great point...except the difference is when Hines made blocks like that, they were legal, and not flagged for 15-yard penalties.

Agreed.

I like JuJu; met him on the 4th Steelers Cruise, he was throwing my boys around in the pool, brought them virgin daiquiris, signed a mini-helmet for us. Great guy, would love to see him remain a Steeler, just not an overpaid one.

It's because of Hines, that that block is now illegal. It was not when Ward played.
 
Anyone running down Johnson consider he has fallen trying to give it his all to make plays. Give the guy a break, Last year everyone gave JU JU all kind of excuses.
 
If the Steeler break the bank for Ju-Ju, what could they get on a trade for Johnson?

If we lose Ju-ju, its likely a 3rd or 4th round comp pick in 2022.

Ju ju pllaying well, but he does not look great this season. He's not worth tag money.

Why is this JuJu or Johnson? It's not they sign one and the other is gone this offseason. They're gonna keep all of their young receivers because the more weapons you have the better chance you have at winning a title.
 
You don't trade your top targeted WR who will be making $1.17M & $1.36M the next 2 years.

That would be a Browns/Bungles move...
