Thinking of ice storm forecasts for my local area, they are correct maybe one out of every 20 or so storms (and I may be giving them too much credit). Usually rains.

When i first saw the forecast was thinking that it would be like the playoff game against the Oilers at 3 Rivers during the late 70's. That was one miserable icy day. Looks nothing like that tonight as temps should be mid 30's or so.

I don't like the time change but understand as to why. They can't wait till the last second to decide. I don't like the implied action of possibly permanent time slot change in the future.

The bottom line is that weather forecasts are never absolute, and the league made the right decision based on the information it had.

For the record -- According to what Mr. Karp posted, the weather is virtually unchanged from day to night: 33 degrees at 1 p.m., 34 at 8 p.m.

And the chance of rain is slightly less at night.
