I was hoping he was a Darren Perry type of safety with smarts and tackling ability. Key word hoping as he has some ball skills.

Not the case so far and he’s too slow for deep coverage.

Davis is more of a 3rd safety but at this point in time he’s clearly the better player. Don’t get me wrong Davis needs to be replaced, but for now he’s needed.

As for Edmunds, I’m not seeing much of a jump form his rookie year. It’s early but the Steelers can not afford a 1st round disappointment at DB.

Cheats attacked Kelly and took advantage. They also ran god knows how many pick plays which not a CB or LB had an answer for. Honestly, when a 5-9 175lb Edelman runs a pick play on a 240lb I just don’t get why the 240lb doesn’t just floor that little **** and end his season. He’s running into so lower your shoulder and knock him the **** out. I’ll take 15 yards every time. One, it’s not cheap if he’s running at you, two if Bill runs that again with a Dorsett and you knock him into thanksgiving I guarantee Bill never runs that play again. Three pick plays are against the rules for 31 teams so **** it.

Edmunds had an “ok” game only one miscue I saw and that was him going for the hit instead of playing the ball. Of course by then I think he was just trying to stop the bleeding not make a splash play.

I don’t know why we didn’t try Tuitt, Hargrave, Heyward with Watt and 7 DB’s Nelson, Haden, Hilton, Edmunds, Kelly(Davis if healthy) Burns and Sutton.

We know the pick plays are coming. Bump your man at the los and they don’t be able to execute them as easily. And I’m with you when the game is out of hand destroy that receiver trying a pick play.
