As someone who has watched Steeler football for all of 45 years, I can say confidently that this loss was needed and long overdue. And losing next week will hurt just as much. But we all know the drama that is this team. As soon as we get in the spotlight, it goes to our head. Sloppiness ensues. The hunger to win wanes. We will probably lose to the Bills and the Browns and hopefully pull off the division with a 13-3 record going into the playoffs. This team when 100% healthy is the best team in the league. But going into the playoffs missing 7 or 8 starters won’t get us very far...

I will truly never understand how this team falls victim to believing its own hype every single time they string together some wins. It never fails. It’s so ******* predictable

I can see 13-3. If healthy, and that means Spillane & Haden are still playing...they have a definite shot.

The worst thing that can happen to a sports team is forgetting what it feels like to lose....

Haden has a concussion i believe. He'll be back, Nelson played the entire Baltimore game, so I can't see his knee issue being serious. My concern with the D lately is that we are getting back to trying to cover wrs with LBs.
The pressure of being unbeaten may have started to weigh on them

I like winning and hate losing, but I was getting tired of all of the undefeated talk and the No. 1 like the Steelers were destined for it or something. All that matters is getting to the playoffs then going 3-0 or 4-0.

Spillane is calling the defense on the field. Losing him is a big loss because the rest seem too damn stupid to understand where they need to be

I think the attitude thing is overrated. It's not like guys were out there slacking off because they didn't care which would be obvious. If we were 0-11 ok I would agree but at 11-0, players aren't phoning it in at that point.

I think it's more when the Steelers are successful there's no secret as to why and smart teams will make adjustments to attack weaknesses and counter the strengths. Washington, Dallas, Baltimore knew very well we are now a dink and dunk offense so it's no surprise the offense has looked like **** recently while teams countered that aspect of our game and we made no adjustments of our own.

On the other side of the ball, the Redskins knew we were great against the run and even though they are a run first team, once Gibson went down they knew they had to throw to win. Alex freakin Smith threw over 40 times and won them the game because of that adjustment.

Ultimately the fact is the team peaked against the Browns. They've been declining for the better part of the 2nd season in aspects of the game, but they've pretty much overall begun losing ground across the board since the Browns. They had a good game against a **** Jacksonville team but other than that they've been getting by on luck and defensive performances.

Now that the injuries on the defensive side have piled up, the defense can't be dominant like they've been and the offense this team has put together is so one-dimensional it's become easy enough to stop.

They'll make the playoffs, but I agree, most likely they lose to Buff and Cleveland. Then they get the 2nd seed at best and host either the Ravens or the Titans. I don't expect that to go well. Unless this team somehow figures out how to play much much better than they have the last few weeks, they really don't have any chance of getting out of the first or second round of the playoffs.

It's not jumping the bandwagon, it's realizing the Steelers just don't have anything left to give this season.

Meh we will see how legitvthe browns are this week vs an extremely good ravens secondary... maysfield seems to do well vs teams that are subpar in the secondary and who are stacking against the run...

The bils are a very average team most of the time.. depending on who is counting drops, they or us are leading the league in drop%....

The Browns running attack is a concern and if they get going, that opens Baker to toss it around. They are still suspect in areas, but shouldn't be taken lightly. I think they beat BAL.

They're down to a 3rd string middle linebacker and a 2nd string outside linebacker that maybe made 2 plays last night. They need to be wary of every team they face from here on out.

The Steelers can no longer depend on the defense to shut down opposing teams. The offense may actually have to live up to some of its own hyperbole. And that won't happen throwing to the line of scrimmage.

It's a culture issue. Literally the only thing anyone can ever point to that Tomlin does will is "motivate". So how is it that this team has jerked itself off into repeated losses against lesser teams for his entire tenure? We've underachieved with more talent than 95% of the league and all anyone can say is how we've never finished less than 8-8. With a HoF QB and all of the talent we've had, 10-6 and a playoff win should be scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Tomlin is Mike McCarthy's black counterpart. McCarthy was lambasted for being a buffoon and wasting Rodgers's career and was finally fired for it. Conversely, Tomlin is lauded as one of the best coaches ever. This may be unpopular, but I truly believe it's because he's black. Just like Obama gets a pass from the left for being a **** president, cool shades Tomlin and his thesaurus get a pass because he's "hip".

The offense has already covered for the defense multiple times this year with game winning drives when the defense got ran the hell over.

Again, I see some fans who seem to think it is psychological. The team was ill prepared, overconfident, whatever. I'm seeing scheme. The other team knows they have abandoned the run. They are not blitzing heavy. They are saying you cannot run and we are taking away the big play. March it with short passes only. you will get a penalty, drop a ball, miss a pass on a third down. Conversely we will run the ball and control the way the game is played. I'm not worried about the loss, I'm worried about the last 4-5 weeks. Its been the same every game.

I think there is something to that. I don't think Tomlin is a horrible coach but he sure as hell isn't as great as were told he is by the media. I'd rather a coach who can barely speak and knows how to scheme and adjust before and during the game.

Unfortunately, we have the opposite of that. It's up to Ben each and every week, Tomlin goes as Ben goes. It's up to Ben to try to make adjustments offensively all game, Tomlin sure as hell isn't doing any of that.

As long as the O is scoring its 24-28pts a game, we don't lose.

Keep stroking yourself trying to put words and motivations in others' mouths. I've said this exact thing multiple times over the years and it's an opinion that's been espoused here by others as well. "Tomlin will never get fired because he's the embodiment of the Rooney Rule." Look at the post I quoted and you'll see why it was posted when it was, you ******* dipshit.

It's so difficult to argue against such a brilliant poster as yourself.

Also- I would advise against the name calling, as it makes you look (even more) dim-witted. Unless, that was your intention...

He's right you know, there is a "dipshit" amongst us...........................................

So it's all well and good when 90% of the board ***** on Coach twelve times every thread, but it's all clutched-pearls when I defend myself from having words put in my mouth. Hilarious.

Your entire post is the equivalent of name-calling, but apparently hypocrisy is your bread and butter. You can't argue the point, as you clearly stated, so you've resorted to attacking my intelligence.
