JuJu’s Twitch: “Free Agent! Where Should I GO?”

Dupree isn't going to get as much as many of you think and JuJu is probably going to get more than what he's worth.

If JuJu's name was Marcus Smith would there be the same perception of him out there?

BUD is NOT coming back! The only scenario he is here, as I've said before, is on a 1 year prove it deal or if we offer him a lesser deal that works for us and see if he'll bite because of his injury. That is risky. In both cases, someone will out bid us so he will have to want to come back more than go for the money. Someone will offer JuJu more than we can as well but if we can keep him (Ben wants him back and he "says" he wants to come back) then I absolutely keep him. He has more than proven himself. Maybe not as a true number 1 but as a true blue collar Steelers WR in the mold of a Hines Ward. Kid is tough as nails.

BUT, realistically, all I see us signing is Watt and cutting alot of players to do it. Unless something is done with the cap, we will not be bringing players back. Hilton and Sutton will both get offers more than we can afford but maybe we can keep one. This team is going to have a lot of rookies, practice squad and unproven players starting next year. Our cap model along with the cap reduction this year and probably next are going to mostly gut us. The hope is we can sign Watt, then sign Minkah and then sign Bush. Everyone else will only be icing on that three-man cake.

Light years. How anyone can say Highsmith hasn't showed them enough when he was a rookie thrown into the fire, and actually did what he did, is beyond my comprehension.

Most are comparing Highsmith's rookie ability to current DUPREE ability..

I think JuJu's infatuation with social media has moved him to the Steelers "Do not offer" list..

I am more in line with there is too many needs not labeled WR.

he asks where he should go instead of saying he wants to stay.
he's packed his bags already. hate to see him go, but...

if Bud is back next year, he likely won't be the same player. physically he'll still be in the tender steps of getting past that injury. mentally? who knows.

Read that Bud is already walking and starting rehab.

My daughter had ACL surgery December 8th. She has been walking without a crutch for almost 2 weeks now. She does not yet have full range of motion. Now, I suspect that Bud is more driven than my daughter given his body is how he makes his living. He should be slightly ahead of her right now. My wife had acl done years ago. Docs want people up and moving as quickly as possible for a number of reasons from blood clots to flexibility to scar tissue. That said, I remember the surgeon on wife's ACL saying it is a 9 month recovery for most people. Even world class athletes before the surgery can't cut it down that much.

I do wish Bud the very best in his recovery. I would love to see him back in Pittsburgh, but I just can't see us being able to afford him.

I think mentally he has shown tough as he gradually developed and took on new approaches along the way. To me it isn't a question of will Bud regain form is when.

Then there is if the Steelers see enough in AH to not even take on the risk. As I think money wise the injury makes it feasible.

Steelers will probably look towards Hilton or Sutton or both over resigning a recovering Bud I get it. But I think in the long run he will make a good pass rush team happy as he would be a good compliment. A not so good pass rush team might be slightly disappointed.

He’s a #2 wide receiver at best but he bring #1 wide receiver drama. We don’t need that. Plus... the cap will not be going up and add in the fact that there is always a dumb team out there ( just like there was for Leveon Bell) to give him a stupid contract. Nope. I think he’s gone. But we’ve got enough at WR to be fine.

Not yet...

An off season of strength and conditioning and then...probably yes.

Sorry steel Dino. I meant that they are dissing Highsmith's ability because it doesn't stack up to DUPREE's current ability. They aren't comparing rookie season's of both that why they are saying Highsmith's needs to show a little more.

I should have communicated better but those are the breaks of a message board.

Bud's gone. Juju, probably. The fact is that if we keep the backfield as in tact as we can, it will help the pass rush anyway.

I still hope that Ben can redo things and get the cap hit down.

Only a handful of teams will have the money to offer bud what he is worth.... im really afraid he will end up a Patriots player... another case of poor development pushing his value up right as ufa hits...

I don't think teams are going to throw a lot of money at Bud. The injury looms large and brings drop off and not ready out the gates questions. Plus you throw in the fact he had the best pass rusher in the NFL right next to him. I was thinking he could get a 1 year 10 mil prove it deal.

What impressed you the most about Highsmith in his six starts? His one sack, or the Steelers 1-5 record with him in there instead of Dupree?

Good luck JuJu! It was fun watching you in B&G. He'll get a nice contract elsewere. Hopefully, it's not with an AFCN team.

Well he had two but yeah not a complete body of work to look at he is about average in pressures according to PFF.

But what he can do is set the edge and tackle well which garnished a higher grade. He also is pass defense capable.

As a pass rusher he isn't in Bud's league but too early to tell if he ever will be.

Which is why you bring in a OLber in the draft in the 3 to 5 range to compete and press him.

Here is a good read on him.

Bud ain't coming back. Right now the Steelers F.O. is looking at Bud and saying "We'd like to have you back Bud, but the way our bank account is set up ...."
Better chance that they resign Ju Ju ... but still a long shot. Ben wanting him back helps. But, at this point in time, how much leverage does Ben even have?

Correct. Bud is gone and Highsmith is now that guy at ROLB. If Juju is also gone then we need to draft a WR high in the draft and also find a way to keep Washington.
