JuJu Smith-Schuster Dealing With Knee Injury

Let the A1 doctors with very good testing equipment and imagery decide. All Im saying is Id rather not see it linger out into camp. If its something simple clean it up now.

A dislocated pinkie, just means it got knocked out of socket. It goes back in pretty easily, and you will have swelling and pain. I used to play with them. Just taped it to my next finger and went back out on the field.

If you're worried about problems or setbacks with it, it would be under a 1% chance of this being an issue and he should be 100% for training camp.

Im not worried about the Pinky. That is nothing unless you get mangled up bad. He has a knee injury. That is what has me concerned.

We discussed the knee earlier. Sounds like he may need a scope or a clean out. Both will have him ready for training camp if done soon.

I wonder what they are waiting for, next season?

So here we are back a month or so later. Id be real curious what treatment was used on Juju's knee as he is already missing practice.

My guess is they did nothing and he'll need surgery to "clean" things up. Something that should have happened weeks and even months ago.

Winna winna chicken dinner which is exactly what a few of us said.
I said the same thing during OTA's but I was hoping he would have had any procedure done prior to camp so he is ready for the season. Anything now makes it almost a given he misses regular season games.

You guys know that a lot of knee injuries self correct with rest. Especially when you're 21, and an athletic specimen.

I'm not a professional athlete or a knee surgeon but I have had a total of five knee surgeries counting a total reconstruction ( completely torn ACL, PCL, MCL and my meniscus was torn 360) five and a half hours on the table which eventually led to a full knee replacement in 2014. so I can tell you there are very few knee problems that self correct, other than a sprain. even the slightest tear in the meniscus has to be scoped. the thing is you or I get a scope and we are back to pretty much every day activities in myabe three to four weeks, NFL players need two to three times that long.

But here is the thing Cope. The time to rest is done. So now its go time and he is slowed by it. So now what ends up happening is he will nurse it through the season successfully or unsuccessfully. And then get a proceedure in the offseason or get it now and be really ready physicall but well behind preparation.. If he got the ****** thing done when we said hed be almost really better. Not half assed better. Either way I got money its gonna end in surgery either way.

For as many, per capita, doctors that are on this board I'd think Shuester should be here reading this and making his decision based on all these expert opinions. You can say what ever you want and add in reasoning on your behalf BUT I'm sure JuJu has some of the BEST sports medicine doctors available to him. Do you think they would intentionally hold him back???? You must consider long term vs short term on any injury as an ATHLETE must have his abilities long term, not just for in the moment. Ultimately JuJu makes the decision but I'll bet he is made well aware of the short A-N-D long version of what could / would / should happen. I'll take his decision and live with it wheather it's short or long term.

Salute the nation

I get that and if in the long run he didnt get surgery and had virgin knees that would be great. However, though I may not be a doctor I have been watching this **** long enough to know that he probably ends up with the surgery anyhow. Which is the point.

Meniscal injuries and partial tears can heal on their own. I'd bet JuJu's is meniscal.

Still plenty of time before the season for a scope or a 'c' cut people.

What did Tomlin say? As long as it wasn't " a little boo-boo " Ju-Ju will be fine.

A little boo boo for Ju Ju.
Bell,

Take note on another rhyme boy!

Hope you are right Cope. Time will tell who is correct. I have to tell you that I could have been a doctor if it wasnt for all those science classes.

I too could have been a doctor. My parents are, and I saw the obscene amount of their life they have to give up to get there. I said F that, played in my band for a few years and started my company. I prefer my path, though if I ever decide to go back, it would be medical school in the islands and I'd go to be a psychologist.

Oh, and JuJu returned to practice today and practiced fully, so good thing he didn't go under the knife...
