Does anyone have any inside information on what the hell is wrong with Juju and if Conner will get back on the field this year? Would love to be somewhat healthy for this unexpected Wild Card push...

TWO THINGS

1) Look at the very top of FOOTBALL ONLY, there is an injury report by COPE who has a lot of information on the injuries / time frames.

2) Unexpected...wild card? For some yes, others a maybe but for many EXPECTED !

Salute the nation

Juju being out is a problem. Connor, not so much.

I think both will be back by the Bills game. Hopefully with a little luck sooner.

Connor is not missed as much as expected, But I would be nice to get him healthy for the push to the playoffs. JuJu will be doubled when he comes back. should help Washington get open more.

Connor is missed more than many think. He is a duel threat, running and catching passes so defenses have to be ready.
Snell is mainly a runner and Samuels mainly a pass catcher, so defenses have it easier.

Juju has a knee and he got turf toe in week 1. The extra healing time is a blessing for us with him. Conner is just soft, period. I would not expect this to be a guy who can be our work horse.

I think Conner is much better. I think he takes a lot of hits. He also makes people miss, more than the other backs.

JuJu is a huge problem as he did not appear to have any injury other than his head when he left the field 2 games ago. I have no clue what his knee injury could be or how long he will be out. I did read that mid-week this past week, he was still wearing a large brace around his leg to isolate his knee. That is never a good sign but I didn't hear he had or needed surgery. The injury just baffles me.

Juju is the bigger missing piece. He will make Johnson and Washington better with his presence on the field drawing coverage. Conner is more of a sticky situation. Snell is coming on no doubt. IMHO a healthy Conner could be taking some of those 7 to 10 yard runs and getting 12-15-more. He has a lot of vision and elusiveness. But the last thing you can do is split carries. A back needs the 25 carries to get feel for the game and set stuff up. So if Conner doesn't play and Snell continues to progress, I go with him in the all important Buffalo game (if you beat Arizona). You have no margin for Conner being rusty at this point.

Conner may be injury prone, but he is certainly not soft.

Not only is he injury prone, he is absolutely soft. Dude fumbles off his own arm. He's soft. This is not a guy you bring back with a second contract.

That is a Bullshit post. He is anything but soft. Injured, sure. I'm not even sure if he has a feature back body. But he sure as **** is not soft. He averages just under 1.2 fumbles per hundred carries. He doesn't have fumble problems. These guys are grabbing and ripping at the ball on 4 out of 5 plays. You are going to fumble.

I think opposite of Juju- of course I’m taking into factor MR throwing the ball. I think Washington emerging will make JSS better. Washington has shown yesterday that he can make those great catches in traffic and should command more double coverage. The endzone catch in traffic and maintaining control was amazing in itself. I expect to see Washington on the outside and juju back in the slot more where he’s just a beast

I won't disagree with you that the emergence of Washington and Johnson doesn't help Juju. It does, because there are very rare situations where any receiver is double covered all the time. It is more like third and a big down, we double this guy. but still it is a situation where any coach goes, who is there one- he gets the most coverage, two and so on. So now Washington gets the most and Johnson second. Or maybe teams are going out of their way to stop MacDonald, cause he gets **** all.

He fumbled off his own bicep at Denver last year. Not a defender ripping the ball from him.

He fumbled at SF when all he had to do was protect the ball this year.

The guy is ******* soft, including being injury prone. The attitude that you are GOING to fumble is wrong.

And Juju fumbled trying to do too much last year essentially ending their season. And Ben makes terrible decisions and throws horrible picks. Its called math. Math wins every time. If he was soft, he doesn't come back and reinjure that shoulder. He pulls a Deuce and lives in his track suit on Sundays.

I get the dynamic that Connor went to Pitt, and he's a great story with all he's battled. That said, he's just a guy out there. Nobody is going out of their way to game plan against him on his best day. The players out there now compared to last season are significantly different. The offense has had struggles, but the kids seem to be stepping up more at this point.

JuJu will definitely benefit from the young WR's developing and gaining confidence while he was out. As for RB? I'm good with the committee and riding the hot hand. They all bring something different, but holding onto the ball in big situations trumps all of the rest. We're in a decent spot all of a sudden with useful depth due to them being forced to play. Don't bury them for Connor, he's not THAT guy. At the end of the day this team will go as far as the defense carries them, and it's been a while since we could say that around here.

JuJu is hurt, and Conner is just a guy talent wise. Not soft, actually the guy runs with heart and balls, loves contact. Problem is he's just not good enough at the NFL level.

Definitely is a fun chicken or the egg debate. Glad to see the receivers finally showing up.

Conner is just a guy, so I'm sure you won't mind going back to Jonathan Dwyer and or Isaac redman.

Got Snell, Samuels, Edmunds (trey) and Whyte all running the ball fairly well. Two of those undrafted. Parker was another undrafted RB. RBs are a dime a dozen if you can block for them.
