The Court could hear the case even though they know what the outcome will be ... just to send a message to one side or the other. I think they hear the case and provide the NFL with a win. They were saying on the radio that the courts can't/won't stop this. They won't even be able to hear the case until many many months down the road, likely after the season. The only way to stop it would be to get a judge to issue an injunction, which I'm hearing is unlikely. The suspension stays for now.

Well, Goofdell keeps surprising me on this one. Didn't think he'd suspend Brady to begin with and didn't think he'd stand firm. Gonna be intriguing to see where this goes now. Which would figure into his ability to get an injunction in order to delay the suspension. First thing he has to prove in order to get that injunction is that it is more likely than not that he will win the appeal based on the issues. His failure to cooperate and destruction of evidence may preclude him being able to meet that standard.

I'm not sure that the NFL wanted to see texts between Brady and the equipment managers. Remember their original request (through Wells) was for "any/all texts relevant to the investigation". If you're Brady, aren't you going to text your agent, your dad, your wife, possibly your closest friends, etc. about this issue? I think the NFL wanted to see those texts ... where maybe Brady wasn't as guarded with the information he disclosed.

Btw, it appears that the NFL has beaten Brady/NFLPA to the punch. The NFL has filed suit in Federal court in Manhattan to uphold Brady's suspension. If it's accepted there, it would keep Brady from "forum shopping" and trying to file his suit in Minnesota where the judge has given favorable rulings to the NFLPA/players. Interestingly, if Brady/NFLPA file an answer to the NFL suit, they will have subjected themselves to that court's jurisdiction and would be precluded from filing suit in Minnesota. Somebody in the league office has gotten their head out of their *** for this one.

Wells left the door wide open for Brady to offer up anything.
Wells didnt need to see all the texts Brady had. Nothing between him and friends, nothing between Brady and the guy ******* Giselle to keep her happy...nothing but what Tom thought would be relevant. He could keep it as vague as possible.
