Josh Norman a UFA

Hopefully they pass on a corner in the draft now and a better one slides to the Steelers.

Way too much money for this guy. One solid season and he cashed in. I'd need to see more before I considered signing this guy to a contract like this. But this is the Redskins and this is how little big man operates. No wonder they never win anymore.

He don't care about winning. If he did, he would have stayed with the Panthers.

He's going to a garbage team with tons of cap space so he can catch a blockbuster contract.

Don't want him, can't use him.

I told you so, and this contract proves it. He left a proven winner to go to a proven loser so he could collect the most scrilla.

Players like that don't win championships.

I'm interested in Kate Upton, but I won't bother approaching her about it....

well, not inside 1,000 feet for the next 3-5 years, anyway.

Not me, here is what the conversation would be........... Setting; at a small bar, band playing..

Drink IC: Hello there Ma'm, would you like to dance.?

Kate: Well, no.......I don't think so....

Drink IC: Well then,......I suppose a ****is out of the question.......?

Kate: Well, now that you put it that way,...........Yea, let's DANCE. !!!!

Pops, it is Kate Upton,.......YOU can but I can't...........PASS

Mostly that third thing.

No Stoney, not three's, just two's................

$51.1 MIL guaranteed. What a loser.

Wow. Just. Wow.

You know Ben, The Bus, Hines Ward and even James Harrison have all taken pay cuts to stay with this team. To win championships. Those are the players I respect.

If you want paycheck players, you should have been a Cowboys fan.

Josh was Carolina prospect. Grew up in SC, went to Eastern Carolina. Played for the Panthers. But he bolted, without hesitation, for the cash. No loyalty = No respect.

He was the best corner in football last year and allowed a passer rating of 54 on passes thrown into his coverage. This guy was amazing last year. If he plays well against OBJ/Bryant, Washington will likely win their division.

LOL...Yeah Ben took a pay cut. Bus, Harrison and Hines would of been let go if they didn't and were not in the prime of their game. That's like asking Brown and Bell to take a discount to stay in the Burg. We will see if they do....I doubt it.

Well it's true no Steeler in their prime takes a pay cut to stay with the team, they do often sign deals and extensions that are fair to both sides and still allow the team to salvage some cap space to actually field a competitive team. They are usually more team minded than this.

After seeing how much this dude was overpaid, I am so glad we didn't try too hard for him. $15 million per and $50 million guaranteed is beyond crazy. He just isn't that good. I'll take one good $8 to $10 million a year guy and use the money elsewhere. There's a reason teams like this fail year in and year out.

Well, we will see if that money was well spent on Monday Night when we play the Foreskins in DC on Sept 12th.

The only player who I can think of who has taken a massive paycut is Brady. The steelers who were mentioned may have taken a slight discount, but not a huge paycut. I am curious to see what they do with brown. Hopefully he learned from the Wallace situation, but they are two different players. I really don't care what they do with Bell as I feel he is overrated.
As for Norman, I do not think he chose to leave. The Panthers rescinded the franchise tag. I think the skins overplayed, but if he can get them over the hump it will be worth it. With out a pass rush I do not see it happening though.

I have no problem with Brady taking a pay cut since his wife is worth billions. I do have a problem with the patriots playing his company for nutrition consultation. This is illegal circumvention of the cap and should be investigated.

No we won't , if it is a 5 year deal so lot of more time will be needed to see if he was worth 50 M guaranteed

I'm also confused on Norman's status. He was cut and I didn't think that merits compensatory picks, however he was a tagged free agent so I'll track to see if they get compensation next year very grey area to expect a comp pick after you commit the franchise tag to a player.

He wasnt cut, he was offered a franchise tag that he didn't sign, then they took the offer off the table

I hate to break it to you, but Brady did not take a "massive pay cut". He restructured his contract to back load his salary and increase his guaranteed money.

Yes, it's cap friendly. No, it's not a "massive pay cut."

Don't feel sorry for t*mmy b*y as the CHEATRIOTS have figured out another way to channel him money. His supplement and physical therapy clinic is bringing in BIG $$$$ as the CHEATRIOTS send ALL of their players / coaches / everything there. The NFL just l;oops the other way. **** anything CHEATRIOTS and that includes little t*mmy b*y.

I am sure Pouncey agrees with you. And while Gilbert played better than he did in his previous years I would say they didn't get even a slight break in salary with his contract either. Then we can go to Heyward. While he might be one of our best defensive players I don't see a team discount there either. What about Timmons? Nope. I guess we will see when our other young players coming up on their 2nd contracts and what they agree too. My guess it will be market value or higher.

Wow. Just. Wow. - sounds ghey just typing that - you are being naive.

You get offered $50 million guaranteed over $12 million guaranteed? You take the 50, every time, no "home town" crap applies. Short of murdering someone, that $50 mill is his no matter what.

Set for life.

Team loyalty goes down the toilet. It's not even worth thinking about. Get that $.

He'll be broke within 10 years after leaving the NFL.

Bang.

The difference is this: IF I HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN BEING RICH AND BEING GREAT, I'LL CHOOSE GREATNESS EVERY DAMN TIME.

You can't buy a Ranger Scroll, or a Silver Star, or a Superbowl Ring. You have to earn those things by being among the very best at what you do. There are things you can't put a price on. Money comes and money goes. Greatness lasts forever.

Unless you kill your wife.
