Anyone else think this should be the pick in round one and take whatever QB is still there in round 2 (Howell or Ridder)? Immediately makes our run D way way better.
WR very well might be the pick in 1 or 2. Especially how free agency is panning out. What do you give a new QB with a rebuilt Oline? A shiny new toy.I’d be just fine with selecting big Jordan Davis with our first round pick. Immediately makes our defense better.
I do not like any of this years QBs so I would pass here. My second round pick would be the best available player either OL, Safety,CB, or WR. If we continue to fill holes in free agency at one of those positions, then that position drops off my list.
That is what a second overall, a first rounder, and a third you had a higher grade should buy you. Time. There is a higher chance that the guy you chose this year will bust. I think one of the three will be a long term solution alaTannehill. Not a true franchise guy but a true starter.I'd pick him in round 1 but I see no QB worth wasting a pick in round 2. We have too many needs to pick another developmental QB. You look to pick a QB in a year or two if no one on the team is lighting the world on fire.
They would have to leap frog the Chargers, at the minimum.Would love the pick, but I didn't think there was a snowball's chance in hell of him lasting that long even before he ran like a gazelle at the combine. Great pipe dream though! If by some miracle he were available at 20 we better sprint up there to grab him, even faster than we normally do.
OLAVE! (Or Wilson ... if either are there).WR very well might be the pick in 1 or 2. Especially how free agency is panning out. What do you give a new QB with a rebuilt Oline? A shiny new toy.
Yep. The Chargers need to fix the run defense and they will do this with Davis. They would have to leap frog the Chargers, at the minimum.
The chargers just signed a nose tackle today, guy from the Rams. I doubt Davis gets past the shitbirds. They would have to leap frog the Chargers, at the minimum.
Can you imagine what the defense will do with a wrecking ball like Jordan Davis in the middle??? 70 sacks here we come! 20+ INT's!
Fack I'm getting tipsy!!!

I think Rats go O'line, they need help there and they haven't done much with the O'line in FA.The chargers just signed a nose tackle today, guy from the Rams. I doubt Davis gets past the shitbirds.
I don't see CB as high w/ the Levi Wallace signing. Here's how I'm looking at positions in the first round as the offseason has played out so far:
PREMIUM POSITIONS
QB-Trubisky is clearly a stopgap. I could see them going Willis, but it's starting to fill like this year is a building a deep roster and setting up a young QB in the next year or two. Odds: low-medium
EDGE-They're set with Watt and Highsmith. There's a lot of talent and could use depth, just not in the first. Odds: very low
CB1-The Steelers haven't done anything here yet and there is some very good talent at the position in the first couple of rounds. Odds: high
LT-After allowing Moore to experience growing pains last season, I feel they're trying to stick with him as the answer. Odds: very low
WR1-Johnson and Claypool are a decent 1-2 combo. They have absolutely nothing behind them. Wide receiver always seems deep in the draft, but there's a chance quality options are there at 1.20. Odds: medium
NEXT IN LINE
ILB-Schobert was disappointing and Bush...what else is there to say? There are a couple of first-round guys who fit the bill, but I think the true value is in the second or third round. Odds: low-medium
C-Green was not the answer at center and the Steelers signed some temporary options. I just don't think Linderbaum is the guy they'd go for. Odds: Low
EVERYONE ELSE
RB-Harris is the guy. They need depth, not a first-round pick. Odds: zero
TE-Same as above, except with Freiermuth. Odds: zero
RT-With Okorafor now under contract, maybe they take a RT who is good value on Day 2, but it feels like he's the short-term answer. Odds: zero
G-Between Green and the two interior guys along with Dotson, there is depth at the position. I'd still strongly consider Johnson, it just isn't as urgent now. Odds: low-medium
DL-This unit is old and has question marks with Alualu and Tuitt. There are some talented options at the position and getting a stud will set the team up in the future as well as provide another rotational piece for this season. Odds: high
S-Edmunds is a free agent and the market is thinning. There isn't much value at 1.20. Odds: low
From how I look at it, if a stud drops, you take them regardless of position. If it's the usual suspects available, QB, CB, ILB, and DL are the biggest needs. CB and DL provide the best value based on the players who I think will be available.
They need another starter at CB, so I still have it high. They need another at WR as well given the 3 WR sets they run. I'd expect there to be good players at both positions.I don't see CB as high w/ the Levi Wallace signing.
WR, IMO, is. We need a big bodied, fast WR that can separate like DJ and catch the ball like Mr. Big Chest...
