If he is truly sober, do you invite him to camp and take a look see?

If I am a GM, I say WTH and see what he has to offer. No harm in looking.

If we were a team without a starting QB like Houston I would surely be kicking his tires. The talent is there.

LOL, not a chance. We have enough knuckleheads of our own without adding to the quota.

Look....I'm a Sales Manager & I have a Top Producer at my Company who has relapsed 5 times in the past 14 months leaving for 1-4 weeks each time. My owners keep bringing him back because he is a Top Producer and makes us all money. I signed off on it 2X & was against it 3X. Truly great employee when sober....The worst when not....

I too was a Top Producer who lost at least 4 great jobs because of Drug & Alcohol addiction (15-30K a month). Because I was so talented & made everyone a grip of money they always gave me a shot, only to see me revert back...I have been clean and sober over 7 years and all is good....

That said, Johnny Manziel has never done anything in Pro Football which warrants a shot by the Steelers....He is not a Top Producer.........He HAD IT ALL.........Literally the nation eating up his every move......

I've lived it myself & it sucks to say it, but Johnny's ship may have already sailed.................

First off, the Steelers should never look at Johnny Manziel.

Secondly, Steve you cannot "revert back." That would just be staying the course...

I would give him a chance.

If I am the GM of a hypothetical team I signed him right now for league minimum contingent on him attending and successfully completing a 90 day rehab. Then once he's out of rehab he lives with a sober companion through spring OTA's into camp. While doing this he attends twice weekly AAA meetings. He resumes living with a sober companion and twice weekly AA after camp until the end of the season. Put it in the contract that any use of alcohol or illicit drugs and he's gone instantaneously. If he's Catholic he gets to do communion with grape juice. If he makes it through The whole season and the next year's camp we can talk about relaxing the restrictions and renegotiation. Barring that then no dice.

Hell ******* No......he made a ton of plays in college just ducking and chunking the ball....

Sure him, bell, and Bryant can party together.

Seriously I would not go anywhere near him. I think his talent is questionable and work ethic is definitely not there. Some team with a bad qb situation may give him a look

Try out, workout, then if he can show me he's in shape mentally and physically a future reserve contract (pretty much camp invite/arm) and tell him he has a 9:00 pm curfew, a no bullshit or you are out on your ear clause in his contract, no bonus money, nothing. But he'd have to come in to that work out 30lbs heavier than I saw him last and have laser like focus and no attitude. And if he was caught outside his apartment/house whatever after 9:00 or even so much as got caught vaping he'd be out on his ***.

Then sure why not. I doubt he'd impress enough physically to be signed but maybe give him some advice how he could try again in May.

If you don't have a good starting QB he's worth a quick look.

Hell no, Bell and Bryant don't need any more help in the addictions department.

Talent wise I think he'd be a terrific backup. I just don't know if he'd be worth the circus when you're trying to win a title next year.

I say, HELL YES!!

The Browns should give him that chance TODAY!!

No. He sucks. Even the Browns didnt want him.

Not on our team. I mean, hell, he got kicked off the Browns.

I'd call Limas Sweed before I called Johnny Manziel

I'd call Tony Romo way before I'd call Johnny Football.

I could see somebody bringing him in to camp and him getting a major injury and cashing in on a settlement worth a couple million.

That's probably his play right there.

I think Romo gets a bad rap. I would love to have him as a backup. His style is close to Ben. However that will never happen he will be starting somewhere at least for a few plays
