Sorry man I loved this guy as a player....he always brought it on gameday. However as a coach for the past 5 seasons for our OLB's we've seen a steady decline in production and performance from our OLB's. I'm not a fan of Bud Dupree and he's gotta go unless they give him a chance at ILB because he's certainly not cut out for OLB. I want a new OLB coach one who can teach technique and improve a player's abilities and skillset. Porter hasn't done that with any OLB in 5 seasons.

Cya Peezy!

I think beyond how he has developed the outside linebackers, is Porter the guy you feel confident with in helping to develop a game plan to stop any offense? A guy who comes up with a defensive call during the game to make a big stop?

Yeah but he has the guys doing the "Who ride" chant. That **** does wonders.

They have 3 games to work some magic. Put some ot in . **** the td dance crap and chants. Work. And when you think you have it. Work some more.

I hope they go 3-0
If not I hope they all go.

Porter is an immature jack *** that has no business in the coaching ranks of the NFL. He would not be hired by any team if let go tomorrow by the Steelers . But he is Tomlinb's running buddy, two stupid guys one a jock sniffer and one a one time thug, what a dynamic duo, not a brain cell between the two.

Watt has improved from last year and has double digit sacks. While I'm no fan of Dupree his stats have improved if only slightly every year. So while I wish they were playing better as a unit I fail to see how you can state there has been a steady decline in production and performance from our OLB because the facts state otherwise.

Peezy is a position coach. If his superiors are happy with his work why should he be fired? If his boss' standards are low, is that Porter's fault?

DuPree was an athletic defensive end in college, had no experience at linebacker at Kentucky.
Watt played mostly defensive end, but some linebacker, at Wisconsin.

Steelers have a long history of trying to convert college defensive ends into OLB in the NFL. Most do not work out (DuPree, Jarvis, Adibi, some other Va. Tech guy that I can't remember) but some do such as Gildon, Worilds, Porter.

If I have a gripe here it's that we hold on too long to a guy who just isn't making that conversion. DuPree looks to be a better fit as a rush DE in a 4-3 defense which is what he played at Kentucky. He has all the physical measurables but he just can't get consistent pressure/sacks.

Our % on these college DE to OLB projects is just not that good.
