Joey …. Never at a loss for words.

IZ (my named A I - yes I have issues) refreshed my memory on the subject, “The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation started its K-9 mission after a police dog was shot and killed in his hometown of Findlay, Ohio, in 2006. That hit Ben personally because he had a strong love of dogs and a lot of respect for police and first responders. He stepped in to help the department get a replacement dog.
  • His foundation began funding police and fire K-9 units around the country.
  • It helped pay for dogs, training, vehicles, protective equipment, veterinary care and other K-9 expenses.
  • For a period, they intentionally supported a department in Pittsburgh and communities around the cities where the Steelers played road games.
  • By the end of the program, the foundation had distributed more than $2.3 million, with nearly $2 million specifically benefiting K-9 programs.

And there was one especially meaningful Pittsburgh example: K-9 Rocco, who was killed in the line of duty in 2014. Ben was so affected by Rocco’s death that his foundation purchased a new K-9, Beny, for Rocco’s handler, Officer Phil Lerza. Ben specifically said Rocco couldn’t be replaced, but hoped the new dog would help Officer Lerza and his family heal.

The reason Ben gave for continuing the program was pretty straightforward: he admired the bond between the dogs and their handlers and felt that the people doing that dangerous work didn’t get enough recognition. He said if he could do even a little to help, he was happy to do it.

Penn Hills Police Department received a Roethlisberger Foundation K-9 grant that helped bring its K-9 division back up to four teams. The chief said all four of their K-9s were Roethlisberger grant dogs. “

My two and a half cents:

Your generalized assessment of donations I am sure is pretty accurate but in Big Ben’s case there was a passion involved. Ben has his fair share of criticism in the past for his off the field behavior but in this case his love for his donations were genuine.
Wonder if Ben's K-9 got Ben's starting RB suspended for 2 games? :ROFLMAO:
Maybe that started the Ben/ Haley Beef

Twisted, but funny as **** !!!!

Why do you find it strange that I don't care for him as a person? He has shown me and countless others that he is a piece of ****. Sure, Ben was hot garbage early in his career and he found a woman to ground him. He's now working towards being a better person. Can anyone say the same for Joey? Is Ben running around telling podcasters that Peezy was/is a piece of ****?
Porter is a loudmouth...Ben is Ben. or was that Ben.
I'll just say it like this: Joey hasn't been shot lately and Ben hasn't been in the middle of "drama" lately..so there is that.

None of us know him personally, but we do have eyes and see he is NOT the same person he was way back then.

He accepted his faults and has chosen to change them.

From my eye test he seems to have found a way better path.

Holding grudges, carrying grudges will only amplify the grudge even of a long time ago.

Why can’t some accept the change and look at who he is.

Remember, “The entirety of your past is what makes you who you are today”

Ben is a better person, that can’t be argued and the last time I checked it is 2026, NOT 2004.

He's old.

Narcissists and sociopaths age just like everyone else. They are also quite clever at fooling people..even those closest to them.

He's a "Christian"...yet on his latest podcast thumbnail he's holding a big mug of beer up to the camera...quite the role model huh?

And if you watch the early episodes of that podcast he gets pretty lit up. Again, quite the role model.

1. So Christians are not allowed to drink beer or alcohol? Someone tell the Catholic church to stop communion...
2. Post the video or you are talking out of your *** and full of ****. They always sample a variety of beers provided by fans, local stores...etc. They each drink what amounts to a shot glass or two of each beer, and they do that 3-4 times. If you think a 250 lb. guy is getting "pretty lit up" on 8 ounces of beer, I have some ocean front property in Iowa to sell you.
3. Are you going to whine about his chef bringing them fried foods to try on the show and how it is aiding in the obesity problem in the country? Quite the role model...

Jesus probably would have had a lager but Iron City hadn't yet been founded so he had no choice but to lift a chalice of wine.

Whether or not Jesus would have had a lager on a podcast is unknown because the internet had not been in existence 2000 years ago

Just some historical info to help you out

Jesus turned water into wine at the wedding and got everyone drunk.

If you think he only drinks the 8 ounces he drinks on camera....I think you can pack up your umbrella and lounger and head to that beach in Iowa. LOL...I watched that podcast when he started..he's been " buzzing" pretty good several times early on, to the point of slurred speech. I don't watch it anymore since there is much better analysis to be found from other ex-players so I don't know what he does now.

I think that's a little more than 8 ounces in that glass...I know, I know..it's AI Ben would never exceed 8 ounces....

Let’s hope there’s been some amendments since the day of the best selling book in the world was written.

Watch the comedian Doug Stanhope talk about this stuff where he says people basically make their own religion. He's right.

God thinks on a Godly level in Godly terms. We think on a human level in human ways

If the book was written by God (divinely) then the wisdom and meaning is expressed in Godly ways incapable for us humans to understand on a Godly level.

Yet many men believe he understands exactly the meaning of something he is truly incapable of fully understanding because they are not God.

The book isn't a surrogate for faith

Ok enough deep thought. Ill go back to comments of masterbation, sideline reporters with d cups, and useless Steelers statistics. Sorry for not continuing to digress

Drunkards are those who are habitually drunk, not the same as those who mostly drink in moderation.

More important

Is Joey still on the PUP list ?

Wondering if the negotiations have anything to do with it ?

Anyone know what his true status currently is ?

He can stay on the pup list, come out rusty and get hurt or play poorly, all plays into the Steelers hand, lowers his market value.
The front office likely looked at his body of work over the past 3 seasons and don't think he's worth top DB $$.
Joey knows he played great last season and a regression to an average of his 3 seasons is more likely than further improvement. Thats why he is pushing so hard because he must strike while the iron is hot.
IMO The Steelers are playing this perfectly, betting on his regression by taking a wait and see approach.
Worst case scenario he proves he is a top 3-5 CB and they pay him next year if at all.
Why pay him now?
I say let him prove last season wasn't a fluke.

The phrase you are looking for is "divinely inspired."
"If the bible in its totality, was divinely inspired then (insert x phrase.)"

I love it. And I'm all for it since I'm not religious. The last paragraph anyway...lol.

No I don’t.
That’s pretty obvious…Jesus getting the people drunk?

Crazy how you couldn’t recognize that I was being facetious.

Have you ever read the scriptures from the Nag Hammadi Library; like The Infancy Gospel of Thomas?

Getting people drunk would be the least of his sinless sins. He's slaying other people for trivial reasons, fighting dragons in a cave, etc.
Of course this didn't fit the " prince of peace " narrative...obviously...if you will.

Anyway when they decided what was canon this stuff was excluded. Though it was discovered in 1945 there were already clues found in cave drawings that showed the early church " dissaproved" of these scriptures to put it lightly. Like the subject of the Gospel of Mary who had her drawing's eyes gouged out.

But I digress as this is football and I'm with the D-cup and Steelers stats guy.
