Joe Haden signs with Steelers

Lets just hope he plays what fans seem to expect, who cares the number. He will be a favorite with one interception and one ball knocked down.

I just did a little research - help me if I'm wrong...Here's what I'd do number-wise for Mr. Haden. Since no one on the roster wears #2 or #6 - I'd give the option for Josh Dobbs to change to one of those numbers and then give Joe #5...problem solved. Make it happen, cap'n...
Uhm, I may be wrong, but I doubt defenders are allowed to wear single digit numbers.

I think the new DB from Seattle (can't remember his name) is wearing #5 as well - hold on checking...

I was right...

Not once the regular season starts i believe.. cant wear single digit numbers.

I don't think he will either. Mike's been here awhile now. Maybe more of the likes of #25 from Artie Burns.

HIGHly doubt he will Artie Burn's number.

Salute the nation

Enjoying the rivals boards

Browns - "Joe Haden is finally fully healthy again and we cut him....this is why this team is losers. We now have ZERO impact players on this team. You need 3-4 impact guys on your team to win, and we just gave one away for free. We will never have a winning team as long as we continue operating like this."

Ravens - "He may not be the same, but he managed to intercept Flacco 3 times last year. I'm certainly not thrilled he's on the Steelers. I think it cements Pittsburgh as the division winner, giving the Steelers a shot a beating the Patriots to get to the lwoB repuS"

Bengals - "**** **** ****"

he is to join the team tomorrow, along with LBell.

Oh well...

I found more information on the numbering system in the NFL for those that are interested:

The NFL's current numbering system is as follows:[4]

I think they made every effort to get a starting corner. Look at the draft picks allocated to the position. Look at the bodies they've brought in to compete. Yes we have some castoffs but sometimes those guys over perform their past and do well. The FO had to know that there would be starting quality players cut prior to the season for cost cutting measures, they likely just did not know who those players would be. Stuff like this happens every year, just not to the Steelers. They know there is a window with Ben and we must maximize that time or we will be wasting our franchise QBs last season(s).

I hope he's healthy. If he is, he's an absolute immediate upgrade and it gives us TWO starting first round DBs. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. WE RIDE!
The corners they drafted were not expected to start in any way. Slot guy. They have made trades for corners recently before season and it has been brutal. This is a major commitment. He really needs to be healthy and play well or it will be a massive cap jail. To put it into context it would be what 4 or 5 million less per year than what was offered to Bell.

The interview with Missy, Haden listed Miami,Saints, and Dallas who showed interest. Hearing it from the horses mouth for future reference if needed.

the Steelers were also the first team to contact his agent. Seems like a perfect match. Him and his family wanted to go to Pittsburgh because of Gilbert, Pouncey and CMT. He said he always respected the organization and are winners. Enough said!

The Steelers scheme could lead to a bounce back year for Haden.

In 2016, The Pittsburgh Steelers played 75.2 percent of their snaps in zone coverage, the second most among teams in the league. Last season, Haden was targeted 30 times in zone coverage, allowed 15 receptions, logged all three of his interceptions, and allowed a passer rating of just 63.5, the 13th best mark among 73 corners with at least 25 targets in zone coverage.

I don't know if they cut Golsen if they can just IR him again. Is there any benefit to cutting him over IR?

Saving on his salary is basically it. And it is not that much really.
