This is good. Still only 28. We need the guy....hopefully he delivers.
I was literally just going to say the same thing, many were complaining that we didn't try to sign a starting CB, now that we have it's complaining about money. Starting CBs ain't cheap. Damned if you do, damned if you don't
Don't forget about Mike Hilton. Looks like he may have already jumped these three on the depth chart. I like the sound of this. Hilton is an intense, quick-twitch athlete, I love how ferocious he is tackling and coming on blitzes. With Haden on the outside paired with Artie, we may finally see more aggressive coverage and schemes. I love how our secondary is shaping up, just hope Mitchell is good to go.

This makes me smile. Cleveland should be jumping off bridges right about now.
I wouldn't be shocked if it was Gay or Cockrell.**** what CB gets the axe?![]()

Tempered enthusiasm. Haden may be an updgrade, but how much of one is the question. Is he fully healthy? I hope this doesn't impede Tuitt's deal being done.
I don't think they will axe Cockrell as he will be insurance for injury IMO.
My concern is that he has a history of concussions and other injuries he can't stay healthy what good is he

Well someone has to go, doubt they keep seven corners. The rookie Allen can stick on PS, which leaves:
Burns, Artie
Haden, Joe
Hilton, Mike
Sutton, Cameron
Sensabaugh, Coty
Gay, William
Cockrell, Ross
If indeed Hilton beats out Gay as slot corner, that's huge. It also pushes Gay down the depth chart, as I view Sutton as a lock to make the 53. That leaves Sensabaugh, who they seem to be high on, and Gay and Cockrell. Due to his age, they may choose to move on from Gay, maybe with a wink and a promise to bring him back during the season if something opens up, if Gay doesn't sign elsewhere.
Didn't someone report not to long ago. that they have been trying Gay out at Safety. maybe that's the plan for him.
Haden, 28, reached the Pro Bowl in 2013 and 2014. The 2010 first-round pick signed a six-year, $74.678 million deal in 2014 but has struggled to find consistency in the years since. Haden has played in just 18 games since 2014, with three interceptions and 13 pass breakups in those two years.
Although Haden's on-field presence has been hampered by injury, he makes an impact when he stays healthy. He's one of only two NFL players with more than 100 pass breakups since 2010 and, in the 13 games he played in, he has recorded a 78.6 passing rating against.
Yep. Might be a nice fit for him.
