Joe Haden Out Sunday vs Browns

He’s been the 2nd most targeted DB, but held QBs to a 76 passer rating and 51% completion , 114 yards after the catch and just 3 TDs.

But 2 INTs is 3rd on team — included a pick 6 that was difference in 2nd Baltimore game & additionally he’s 5th on team in tackles. To put in context: this is by far superior to any other Steelers CB—this season and last season to boot.

It’s also better than both Ravens starting CBs in 2020.

So just pretend that you’re actually ready to debate the topic, I’m taking the “by far” position.

Let’s start off with answering the question: name the only Steelers CB to earn Pro Bowl honors this millennium?

Oh I am always ready to debate. The convo was for this season not seasons past. So we can throw old statistics and awards out the window. Then you look at who Haden has had to defend in comparison right? It isn't just stats right? My comment wasn't to diss Haden more as it was to close the gap with Nelson as I thought he has done decent again in comparison. Also we have man to man schematics and zone schematics to factor in. If you have stats including who each player defended this year with the resultant stats probably would be more accurate in comparison. This is assuming you are ready to debate.[emoji16]

A revolting development to say the least.

We'll see. It isn't like Sutton doesn't have experience.

I’ve been impressed by Sutton and disappointed by Haden this year, I’m not sure who is the better player at this point in their respective careers.

I still think Haden has supervisor cover skills in comparison. But saying that I am not sold on Sutton being a full time boundary corner. I think Haden makes due on smarts and instincts at this point. Consistent in his approach but father time is peaking in this year.

All that ******* KARMA of bitching about other teams during the regular season...

Now we get it as we open the Playoffs..

I saw this coming a mile away. That is HOW Karma works...

any bets on how big the Rog will make our fine?

Who cares....Not my money. As usual with Roger, his discipline is all over the place. It took years for me not to care anymore about it, but when I realized the Rooney's don't care and I figured I should not either. As long as the Rooney's get their $$$$ they are happy.

Tony Romo will be out of the booth this weekend.

CBS analyst Tony Romo will miss Sunday's Rams-Cardinals broadcast due to COVID protocols. Boomer Esiason will replace Romo.

Who are you, the Dalai Lama?

It's hard to say as he did stay at a Holiday Inn Express and is currently eating a Deli-Samich.....................................

Yep. I saw that coming. Every time a team would get hit, out would come the calls for an automatic forfeit. No ones cl singing that song now. [emoji3]

I mean.. we have one player that tested positive not 19 so there is a small difference..

Knocking on wood that is stays at 1.

Well we reminded them that the players wouldn't get paid. So hopefully that knowledge you know prevents them from singing that song now.

If Haden gave a **** and was being careful, this wouldn’t have happened. When we lose the Wild Card game and he’s home watching Justin Layne get torched by Hollywood Brown, I hope he feels like maybe he should’ve have stayed home or wore a mask...

I have no idea what caused him to get it, neither do you. BTW in your scenerio it would be Hollywood torching Sutton not Layne.

So essentially Haden is out for WC game but Kamara could be in because Kamara tested a day earlier. And I don't know how Haden got this, but Kamara was at the strip club was he not. This whole thing is gonna be ******. But I guess if the organization cannot get it through to the players to avoid out of work gatherings before playoffs, what can you do.

So if you’re ready to debate, why didn’t you even present an argument.

I presented facts.
I presented data.
I presented a baseline not just for this team, but to another team.

You presented an opinion based on nothing.

You suggest “throwing stats and awards out the window” which is ignorant to the point that is being presented, evaluating a larger sample size.

By your logic, James Harrison wasn’t a good LB after 2008. James Farrior was All Pro in 2004, but not as good ever again. And that’s nonsense.

So you want to factor in schematics—then do so. But I’m not going to do it for you.

Maybe you can tell us what our CB responsibilities are vs. other teams in a Cover-3? When do we go Cover-1 the most? Who slides over to coverage when Mike Hilton comes on corner blitz?

If you want to debate, then please back up your position with logic and bring more than opinion.

I'm still not positve on Haden. Friday should have been his postitive test. However, if it was his second confirmation test from Thurs, there is an outside shot of him returning for a Sunday game. I don't know the details on it yet. Ebron and Marsh should be back as long as they don't become symptomatic.
