Three-time Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt recently had back surgery, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, according to a source informed of his situation. Rapoport added that the Texans defensive lineman will start camp on the physically unable to perform list, but should be ready to start the season.

The Houston Chronicle was the first to report the news.

Watt has never missed a game in the regular season in his five-year career. Last season, however, he played through a broken hand and a severe groin injury. He also sports hernia surgery this offseason as well.

Man, you got hopes up with JJ, thought you'd be saying Javrvis Jones was out for the season! lol JK not really wishing injury on anyone, especially a steeler!

Probably a microdiscectomy. I had one myself. He'll be back in a month.

Well I'm definately NOT wanting any kind of set back for Uncle Jarvis. We need him at his peak performance this year as it is his make or break season. Don't want any of this kind of excuse or nothing. Either put up or be gone.
