Jesse James

But there are. You don't make the rules.

We compare them because we see a draft pick vs. a high dollar free agent.

We see a guy who cant get on the field because he's the real life version of this guy:

One reminds us of heath and he's from Penn State where a lot of us are from.

The other cost us 5 million dollars and was supposed to be ready by camp.

It's what people do.

Not trying to make the rules. Its just not a green vs James thing for me. I wish we had both healthy and ready to go. Makes us a better offense. As far as money doesn't bother me how much Green makes he ain't buying me ****. He is hurt pretty sure he would love to be helping the team. So when I said there should be no posts I didn't mean it literally was just saying we have room for both. Especially since they compliment each other

James performance last night was reminiscent of Miller's playoff game against the Colts

Yep I remember pretty clearly, in that playoff run in both the Colts and Broncos games, Ben came out early with multiple throws to Heath on early possessions. It wasn't "new" but the frequency of utilizing the TE was definitely a "wrinkle" and it allowed us to get off to great starts offensively in those games. I'd love to see something similar with the Outlaw and maybe LG next week

It seems James places greater importance on ball security than YAK, and I'm ok with that. I noticed that almost every time he makes a catch he wraps BOTH arms around the ball and runs for as many yards as he can, problem is that its hard to run fast w/o swinging your arms.
I'd rather take the catch, move the chains, and live to fight another day than risk a fumble. Don't ask me where he penchant for trying to leap over defenders comes from, lol, I think I've seen him try that twice in recent games.

I'm enjoying watching James play, .......and I'm still hating on the concussed 'superstar'. I the can't play, then he should be cut and make room for someone that can contribute for more than a few plays a season.

There's no doubt we become even a better offense with both James and Green playing in double TE sets. Love to see it for Sunday's game but don't think it will happen. Wouldn't be surprised if Green has played his last game. I could see the team giving him a medical release after the season. It shouldn't take 5 weeks and counting to clear concussion protocol. This young man needs to start thinking of his we'll bring and life after football much sooner than later.

Lol im not a threat on the field either...

I'm pretty sure you and any other Steeler fan might be if you're on the field with Brady, you know that adrenaline thing is crazy, mom's have lifted cars to rescue their kids (Steelers being cheated out of playoff games). Being that close to Brady might have you seeing red and shot with immense adrenaline, so it's possible for you to be a threat

Nah i wouldnt want to get Harrisoned... lol

Does Green have a concussion history?

It sure would be nice to have him on the field, imo.

He has had 4 in the past 18 months, 2 in 11 days last year

Steelers use 2 TEs a lot and they need a blocker more than a receiver. Heath Miller was never a gamebreaking receiver. He was a good blocker and a reliable target. James can fill that role.

I think they will be looking for a TE in the draft as well. I know they like Grimble, so i don;t see them taking a TE high but i'll be surprised if they don't sign or draft one.

It was the medical staff's problem because???

I guess they are supposed to see reoccurring concussions b b b b b b b b b b b in the future buck.

I'd like to see the Steelers pick up Mike Gesicki. Would absolutely be fine with that.

James is only a second year player, so he will get better. Right now, he is a very high value 5th round draft pick.
Nice pick for what turned out to be a high need position.

Those who accuse the Steelers of not developing players need to take a look at more than a few on this roster.

I think what the Steelers are doing best right now is developing guys. It's a credit to the coaching staff and I think Tomlin and Colbert have found their stride together in terms of identifying the types of players they want to draft. Obviously we got great contributions from rookies this season who have improved by leaps and bounds but also think about guys like Hubbard, Finney, LT Walton, Cockrell etc.

We're not going to go into the 2017 draft with many obvious holes (in terms of either needing a starter or having a position with very little depth). We will clearly look for the replacement for James Harrison in round 1 or 2, but there's really not a glaring #2 area of need. I would say it's backup RB because we don't want to be up **** creek if #26 gets injured again and I'm not sure I want DeAngelo back (he might retire anyway...).
