Jerry Rice says Brown wants to be a 49er

I saw a talking head say a 2nd round pick is the best PIT could expect for AB

More like a talking Dunderhead. Don't listen to clowns. The respectable NFL pundits I've heard have been saying at least a 1st rounder because AB's contract is very attractive to a trading partner.

No problem Jerry. First round pick please. Otherwise you are the back of the bus behind anyone in the middle lower part of round one.

I don't care what Rice says either per say, but I doubt he says that without Brown's blessing, just more bad acting by Brown trying to force his way out, Watt doesn't seem happy either listening to his comments lately, do we want Watt and others acting this way to get out of here next...

If all they can get is a 2nd round pick I'd personally keep Brown here and tell him to get his act together or he'll be deactivated.
Watt said he doesn't like losing. How does that equate to anything in the AB situation?

I said it with Bell and I'll say it with Brown, when you trade a premium player you better get a premium return. Brown has probably another good 4 years and a very good contract for being an elite receiver. Highest bidder gets him.

I will be really pissed if the Steelers don't get a good return for Brown. The Steelers have a history of dumping players for nothing. Steelers don't even like picking up good FA's. Only the sub-par mediocre players need apply.

I’d rather see him traded for an established NFL player rather than a draft pick. We’ve whiffed on too many 1st & 2nd rounders to risk losing a talent like Brown only to wind up with a Jarvis Jones, Ziggy Hood, Dupree, Burns, etc. Give me a guy that has already cut his teeth and has proven he can play and play well at the NFL level. There’s a very small window left with Ben and there just simply isn’t the time to wait on a rookie to develop into something that you could even begin to describe as adequate compensation for a talent like Antonio Brown.

I cant give a link from my phone but I'm almost positive Watt said I dont care who is in charge I just want to win.

To me that's a veiled shot at Tomlin. Brown has acted like an *** but whose to say part of his beef isn't about winning too?

I think if PIT demonstrate you can act like an *** and force your way out others are watching and will follow, again its all about leadership and standards that this team sorely lacks

[sarcasm-font] hey, maybe KC would trade their #1 receiver straight across for AB [/sarcasm-font] (Ya, I know...)

At least Ben would have somebody to take the top off...

Like I said in another thread, my initial thought on AB was top half of the 1st round for him and that's minimum. I might even think of another pick as well. One of the PG guys had an article about he was thinking of AB to the Cards for their CB and their 2nd round pick. That is interesting but we would be stuck with AB's cap hit and Peterson's cap number. I think that is too much of a hit for us but I could be wrong. I still like that SF No. 2 pick in round 1 but I know it is a pipe dream. I would definitely trade back a few spots unless there is a true stud difference maker on D we can plug in. Even dropping back a few spots, you should still be able to get a stud D player, if you know how to evaluate players. But, with the way we've been picking recently, I don't trust Colbert and Tomlin to get a stud at any position.

No way we get the #2 pick.

I'd also put SF as the 30th team I'd trade him to, with New England being the 31st team.

I'd suggest:
AB to Tampa for Mike Evans and Tampa's 3rd round pick
(Seems like a do-able deal for both sides)

Arians would be instrumental in this, as he'd get a WR he's familiar with.
We'd get a big body WR for Ben in return.

It's just weird how quickly this has all blown up.

Was everyone completely unaware of how unhappy AB was? I mean, ya he is stats and praise driven, but it's hard to imagine ALL THIS is over the team's MVP vote.

All of this is just insane...yes...unless AB is just extremely immature, insecure, jealous, or all of the above I just don't get it.

Why would Bucs give us Mike Evans? He just had 1500 yard season and only 25 years of age. Not to mention he’s under contract til 2023.

We will **** this up. It's almost guaranteed. I sure as hell hope he stays, but I could see us getting a mid 3rd and a 7th for him. That seems to be the way we roll.
Personally I wouldn't take any less than a very high 1st and then another pick as well.

Could work out a 3 team deal, SF trades down with someone for picks, then we trade AB for their pick they moved down to

You left out the Birfdefect KNOCK OUT. Seems this has contributed to heavier phcyalogical problems / actions.

Salute the nation

we get 9ers 1st rounder and they get AB drama and our 2nd rounder. How about that?

I thought Ark already commented on this but I can't find the response. He (AB) was already angry last year (Gatorade bottle, Haley) and it just boiled over this year. JuJu is a big part of the reason (in one fan's mind), because JuJu has Steeler Nation's heart and AB can't come to grips with it.

He was fine with Ben and everybody until JuJu came into the picture, remember that. Think about it. It's sad and I feel bad for a person like AB getting so insecure over this stupid ****, but you just look at the pattern of behavior/timeline and I think you have your answer.

(I'm obviously kidding but I dunno, this dunderhead may have stepped on something)

Considering BA scouted him while he was OC and got MT/KC to draft Brown for him, yeah he’s pretty familiar.

Brown has already thrown shade Arians way previously. Arians might have scouted him but his rookie season Arians wanted Brown cut and put on the Practice Squad in the final cuts. I can't see Arians going after him.

The #2 pick in the draft is a good start. But Brown is not a 1 pick athlete. He's an elite player locked into a contract and is a HOF caliber player. 3-5 picks minimum for him, or 2 picks and a very good player.
