I've never known Rice to blow smoke and I bet he has AB's blessing to say that.

I saw a talking head say a 2nd round pick is the best PIT could expect for AB, that's disgusting for a top 5 receiver with 2-3 good years still left.

I know PIT doesn't do business that way, but I'd send the locker room a message about what happens if a player acts like this or they can expect more bad actors-so if they do trade AB, don't send him somewhere good, if all we can get is a 2nd round pick, send him to an NFC purgatory team like Arizona or Tampa

If trading Brown to the 49'ers includes acquiring Patrick Peterson from the Cardinals I'd say it was a good deal.
Who gives a rats arse what Jerry Rice says.

I'd take their 2nd in 2019 and 1st in 2020. If the Steelers only accept 1 pick for him, they essentially can pick his replacement, who is
guaranteed to not be as good, so they lose.

I don't care what Rice says either per say, but I doubt he says that without Brown's blessing, just more bad acting by Brown trying to force his way out, Watt doesn't seem happy either listening to his comments lately, do we want Watt and others acting this way to get out of here next...

If all they can get is a 2nd round pick I'd personally keep Brown here and tell him to get his act together or he'll be deactivated.

A 2 one year and a 1 the next? I would pack his bags and make him lunch on the way out.

I'd love for us to have their pick this year. #2 right?

They either pony up or we go to the next team, & start a bidding war...Come on, quit with the 2nd round crap.....This guy is an All-Time great

Not Happening.....

as i said in another post, it only takes one team, and whatever team gets him is going to be getting a steal, they have no guaranteed money wrapped up in him, their cap hit will be salary only which is like 12.4 million, and if they need to cut him for whatever reason in the next 3 seasons(unless they sign him to a new deal) it wouldn't do anything to their cap.
Some team will be paying the best WR in the NFL like the 16th highest paid WR, behind the likes of Demaryius Thomas, Stefon Diggs Allen Robinson, Jarvis Landry, Sammy Watkins, Brandin Cooks. That's incredible value.

I know there has been a lot of talk about we won’t get much for him but I ho early expect to get a 1st and player or other draft pick for him. He’s probably the best WR in the game with a good contract for the next 3 years. Regardless of baggage teams always think they can deal with a player like him. With as many teams very interested drives up the price! Besides being a diva and a douche he has had zero problems off the field. Just my thoughts.

Give us their first round pick and he's gone. Take their 1st rd no. 2 pick and trade down about 5 spots and get extra picks. Then take the best D player at that pick and with our No. 20. Use our 2nd rounder or other pick from trading back and take the best tall, fast WR that has GOOD hands. That is a ******* pipe dream that I know won't happen.

But, with AB still having a few prime years left as a top 5 WR and with him coming to someone so cheap for the remainder of his current contract, a 1st round pick should be the absolute minimum the Steelers should take.

As others have said, I'd say either give us your 1st Rounder or get lost.

It's just weird how quickly this has all blown up.

Was everyone completely unaware of how unhappy AB was? I mean, ya he is stats and praise driven, but it's hard to imagine ALL THIS is over the team's MVP vote.

and no one has been able to talk to him or see if there is a middle ground to reconcile? It can't be that far damaged, can it?

We will need TWO #1 WRs to replace him, so no, not acceptable

How is this not tampering? AB talking to the 49ers TE and others, apparently...now Rice chimes in.

As good as AB is on the field, Steelers are not getting the #2 overall pick for him. If they got picks #34 and #66 off the 49’ers would that be liveable? They’d be able to trade back up into late 1st with that?

I don’t trade him to anyone in AFC if it could be avoided, especially not the. Colts! What that offense would become with Luck, Mack, AB, T.Y. n Ebron, along with that improved D lead by Leonard (who in hindsight would have been a better 1st round pick for Steelers)... no thank you!!!

The talking heads that express a 1st round pick is too great an asking price because he’ll be 31 for start of ‘19 season aren’t taking into consideration AB’s work ethic, as it pertains to training and honing his hand skills, are second to none, similarl to Rice. Also similarly to Rice, barring a fluke injury, he should be able to produce at a very high level for 6-8 more years. If AB plays as many years as Rice and maintains solid average numbers, he’ll blow past JR in receptions n yards and likely finish 2nd overall in TD’s... a 1st round pick from pick 10 or back shouldn’t be unreasonable.

Unfortunately pick trades don’t usually happen well befor the draft, otherwise, 9’ers would be smart to trade back from #2, grab AB with the lower 1st aquired and still have at least as many picks left as they started with??? But that would all need to be worked out before March 17th I believe??? Doubtful!!!

No the 34 and 66 picks are not acceptable, the team getting him will be getting the guy that has broken records over the past 5 seasons at a steal of a price.
Nothing can happen trade wise until March 13th at the earliest, when the new league year begins

I’m not saying they should take it... just can’t see 9’ers giving up second overall pick.

If that's where he wants to go, then that's the last place I'd consider sending him.

Exactly. Start the bidding war and milk everything possible. He's obviously not the smartest business person.
