Jay Cutler to join FOX Sports as a broadcaster

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo first reported Cutler's interest in leaving football for the broadcasting booth and added that Cutler would still be interested in playing if the opportunity to be the unquestioned starter came around. The former first-round pick is just 34.

"This got done in a hurry," Garafolo said on Good Morning Football Friday. "This went from flirtation with Fox to done deal in just a few hours."

Houston is in win now mode. No idea why they wouldn't give Cutler a 2 year deal, 9 mil/yr and let Watson sit behind him.

I thought he'd be a Brown by now

I don't understand what the allure of having this guy in the broadcast booth is. Same story for Tony Romo. Who cares to hear them? Maybe this is part of the reason why ESPN had to lay off 100+ journalists.

Same could be said for the Donkey's and Jets. And then there's a slew of teams with ???? at QB or little to no depth. Hard to believe Cutler is asking so much no one wants to sign him. Not saying he's an awesome QB but if you want to compete a little more than season there's a few teams you'd think would at least bring him in for a workout and chat with his agent. I do someone doubt Cutler stays the entire season with Fox as you know at some point this year a teams QB will get hurt, they will bring in their backup who will suck, and to calm the fan base they will sign him because he's a name but then put him in too quickly so he will do horribly.

Yeah, Cutler is an *******, a real dick. His personality is too miserable for TV.

Donkeys have good enough qb's and tight cap. Jets are in rebuild mode...Houston is a perfect fit...

Cutler lost interest long ago. Can't forget the close up of him on the bench during a game not giving a **** about anything.

A couple of restructures at most for the Broncos and Cutler is head and shoulders better than anyone on their roster now. Maybe Lynch shows something this camp but they are built to win now not later. Jets fans are never happy and want to win now. Cutler shows they are at least trying to win now. Houston also is a good fit but the Broncos again are closer to winning a super bowl than them.

cutlers a perceived dick.. I agree.

But given the choice between phil simms etc.. and the myriad of talking heads with their giant pens in their hands and nodding agreeably with everything everyone says..... I would rather watch randy moss,, or Charles barkley,, and maybe jay cutler.. So theres that aspect.

If teams thought they could win with Cutler he wouldn't be retiring.

Fresh meat in the booth. Maybe networks can actually find some announcers that call the game not the when I played attitude.

Romo seems like he'll be a natural on TV, though I don't get the concept of moving him right to the top position outside of keeping him away from FOX. Cutler isn't a guy I thought would end up on TV and really have zero interest in him.

How many players actually play past 34? People act surprised when guys retire in their mid 30's... the vast majority of guys don't play past 35...

Right back at ya!

He'd be interested in a return as the "unquestioned starter"...bwahahaha!

Only an unquestioned loser team would bring in the aging, marginal talent QB with the I'm a big ole ***** attitude that is Cutler as an unquestioned starter.

Even the Stains are that stupid, but the network that puts him on air just may be

I know I am glad Cutler isn't our QB. He won't except a back up role and has no fathom of what that really means....... Talk of retirement and a fox network deal......in a matter of hours. He was done and couldn't wait to get the hell out iof the kitchen............... :pirate:
