Jarvis decision today?

I would take the "prison guard" anytime. Would anybody have a rookie PICTUrE of James H. So as to compare the then and now??? Just curious as to how bad *** he looked then compared to now.

Salute the nation

Starks also won a Superbowl at 2 different positions. We may have overpaid, but we remained competitive.

Our only OL to start in all three of our last SB's.

We'll see ... Looks can be deceiving. Troy looked like a nice Samoan surfer type ... talked real soft ... spiritual ... But on that football field, he'd lay a whoopin on ya!

Yes, looks can be deceiving.

Remember this guy? Frank Summers, RB drafted by the Steelers in 2009. Out of football.

Finally the Steelers start to admit their mistake in stupidly picking this "special" player who lacks all of the physical traits needed to be a great pass rusher.

Ok I got it. I thought the option was this year. They hold all the cards. He has the year we all expect they can let him Ziggy Hood. If he somehow explodes and actually plays like a first round talent they could tag him. Which is extremely unlikely. I'd way Heyward and Timmons were late bloomers but they flashed a lot more than uncle Jarvis. God I ll be happy when he is gone.

part of this decision is that Jarvis will be 27 this season. Even if he has a good season this year, how much would you invest in a new contract? He'd be 28 with 1 good season under his belt and odds are he'd only have maybe 2 good years left until he starts to slow down.

Jarvis will start the year. No need to let him go.This was all about leverage. He balls out or has a good year. They resign him to reasonable money. He doesnt we look elsewhere

Uhhh...what??

Oh nevermind, I re-read and I see what you were saying, lol.

Well, we know we're picking another OLB next year in the first round....

My hate for Jarvis has become irrational.
1) I would not have drafted him.
2) I would have cut him 2 years ago.
3) I would not have granted his 5th year option.
4) I would not extend him at any price.

I would extend him at may 3 mil/yr as a rotational guy like Moats. Nothing more than that.

My only worry about Feeney: is he mean? I know it's a silly question, but...

Y'all remember Scott Shields. Big, strong, fast, smart. Looked like Tarzan, played like Jane. A safety that didn't want to hit anyone.

Look at this guy. He looks like someone you might cross the street to avoid...

Now look at Travis. The kid's got "Son In Law" written all over him.

Does he have the killer instinct? I just don't know...
Young Feeney is 4" taller and 50 lbs. less in weight - not the same frame at all. I, do, however, think that Chickallo may get some PT this year while Feeney buys some stock in Popeye's red beans and rice...

Do you remember that little 5'9" guy that we let go last year??? This isn't the first time they're making such revelations. And, just in case you forgot, Cortez Allen got cut to for his lack of production...

Put it all in context and the picture is quite clear - this ain't the same FO and Coaching Staff from the past. They may not "hit" on every pick; but, you can bet your uncle's horse that if the pick doesn't work out - the pick will be put out to pasture...

Seems most teams opted out of their 5th year options. Jones certainly isn't worth $8+ million per year unless he has a break out year this year. If he does, then the Steelers have something to think about for a contract extension. If he plays well enough to be a back up, maybe they sign him to much less than $8 million and maybe they just let him walk.

He'll have every opportunity again this year to prove his worth. If he doesn't do much early on, who would be the potential back up to Deebo this year? Jones could actually find himself riding the pine this year.

Could Dupree switch sides in 2017? Feeney seems a bit small to go up against LT's.

The RTs are generally stronger than the LT, that's why its called strong side

I think the strong side refers to side that has more players...such as a TE. I could be wrong though.

You're not wrong. The TE alignment makes it the strong side, because that side has more players than the other side of the center.

Well yeah but offense rushes to the strong side, that's why you a mauler RT and a quick feet LT. Remember Woodley at LOLB? There was a reason for that, he was very good against the run due to his strength
